Was this the right decision?

Ok to help you get introduced to my situation here is my current schedule:
1. Advanced Comp
2. AP Euro. History
3. AP Comp Sci AP AB
4. AP Physics B
5. AP Economics
6. AP German III
7. Algebra II

I am also a Junior in High School... Ok well I decided to play football this year as I am in very good shape and quite strong (from persistant lifting), I did all the summer conditioning and even the 2 a days and practices in full pads for like a week after, however I still have not changed into Football and think I am not going to. I am sure I could probably get to playing level next year, but this year would mainly be sitting the bench on Varsity. This isn't too bad, but if you look above you see my schedule and know that with football I don't get home until 6- 6:30 everyday and also have to be at school like an hour early, and have no Fridays open. This basically throws out any social life and meeting with friends out the window, and cuts into my homework time. Also keep in mind that my school is very good at football ( we are playing the #5 team in the nation tonight). I think I have made the best decision since I will probably not be good enough to play in College, and I would rather focus on my studies and have fun with friends instead of torturing myself. I will have Ice Hockey to play, and will still be able to lift weights with friends. I think I have made a good decision, what do you guys think? All my close friends so far have supported me, but my friends on football team and the coach do not.

I find it strange you are taking so many AP classes, yet you are in algebra 2? wtf? you should be in like Calculus.

Oh and with all those AP classes, you will not even have enough time to post on anandtech anymore. happy flunking.

Of course your football friends and coach don't support you... they want as many good, capable people on the team as possible. I think your schedule is MAD though... man you have absolutely no time for fun in there. Come AP test time, you will be killing yourself studying.

However, I will say that it is worth it. Though I am surprised you can take AP Physics without having any calculus background. Anyway, you'll be glad you have all the AP credit in college. My recommendation would be to try and take AP US History, AP government, and AP calc next year. I went into college with 22 hours of AP credit. I only ended up using 12 of them, but 12 hours exempt made my schedule a whole lot easier in college.

I think you made a good choice. Unless you either really want to play HS football, or you really want to play college ball, then you made the right decision. If you want to take the classload you have, and have a life at the same time, then you made the right choice.

Actually I guarantee I won't flunk and I will probably be getting out of AP German III. and I have already taken AP US History.

yes I should be in Pre-Calc... I can take Physics I took an advanced Chemistry class last year, and can learn on my own if need be. I'm taking Pre Calc over the summer so I can take Calc I as a senior.

Also I really don't think my schedule will be THAT hard, AP Econ and AP Euro are pretty much just reading, and AP Comp Sci I will just read a book for homework ( just a little bit, mainly learn in class), but yes Physics will probably be hard, but so far I am thinking that I will be real interested in it. Yes I will be busy, but next year I have to take 2 art credits, and I know I can still fit in a social life with this, its just mainly homework on Mon-Fri.

You can't guarantee you won't flunk. If you are going to get the college credit, you have to get atleast a 3 on every single one of those tests. I took AP US History last year and killed myself all year and killed myself before the test and barely got a 3. I have friends that are practically geniuses and can barely handle 3...maybe 4 AP classes.

You're screwed.

I would recommend adding advanced thermodynamic nuclear design and oscillation and optical neural networks. If you can fit it in I recommend digital satellite broadband orbital communications too.
