I don't know about that whole light saber thing... what happens when you drop it? I suppose you just don't. In regards to attack of the clones... isn' t there an unspoken rule about bringing characters back and calling them clones? Damn cheaters. Oh well, I suppose George Lucas makes the rules.

It shuts off. There are two triggers on it. One sits on the flap of skin between your pointer finger and your thumb to make sure that it's still in your hand. Simply holding it depresses this trigger: it's easily pushed. It's like the safety. The second trigger only works if the first trigger is activated. The second is the actual trigger that ignites the blade. These are the triggers that control blade length and density -if you're the kind of Jedi who, when making their own saber after becoming a Jedi Knight, sets the right shaped stones in the right positions inside the handle.

If the first trigger is depressed, you can hit the second trigger to ignite the blade and have yourself a portable weiner roaster.

You've seen the scenes with Vader throwing his continuously ignited saber, right? That's a simply trick by using the Force to keep the two triggers activated, then using the Force to also keep the saber spinning away instead of dropping to the ground ten feet in front of them. Simply ForcePull brings the unlit-hilt back for more weiner-roasting fun.

Actually, I couldn't give a rat's ass about Star Wars. I've always loved the look of those kick-ass Storm Trooper suits of armor, the whole idea of TheForce, and the idea of the lightsaber.

Getting back to the subject, yes, Yoda was a Jedi WAY before anyone you know was alive. He's something like 800 in Episode I anyway. And, if all you Star Wars buffs realize, you have to begin training when you're VERY young. Ani was considered too old to train and he was something like 10 or 12. It's a wonder that Yoda even bothered with Luke in Episode V/VI.

Why not just stop someone's lungs from moving? Or heart from beating? Or electrical impulses in the brain stop? There's an honorable part to being a Jedi. The Lightsaber is an elite weapon, and isn't just a cheap way to kill. It's a noble weapon to fight a noble way of fighting -not cheaply!

yeah it is, suppose to be very difficult and you need a special crystal that determines the color of the weapon.

No, it's more than one gem. The size and shape determines the length and density of the blade (and whether or not the blade's length can be changed). The color of the gem combination dictates the color of the blade.

I don't think Yoda used a light saber. He battled using just the force. I remember reading about him killing a dark jedi in a battle of the force, and that's what made that cave Luke went into the "evilllllllll" cave in Empire Strikes Back.
