Or do you feel like you were ripped off? Either a week or a year after the purchase.

What was the difference in price on the car tag?

Yep. They were asking $900, I paid $800, and book value was at least a thousand more. Only sold so cheap because it wouldn't go over 40mph and was belching out lots of black smoke, and they had no idea what to do with it. It's a turbo, and the hose that goes from the intercooler to the intake had a big tear it on the underside... I paid $36 shipped for the hose, and I've taken it on two 1,000 mile road trips
I'm getting a deal on my next one, too, buying it at the end of the month.

They were asking $25,000, I paid $21,000 with a extended warranty thrown in. So not bad IMO.

Hah. 800 for a 40mph mode of transportation is a steal.

Good deal. I'm looking into getting a mustang 07 with the works (pony package, anti-theft, and exterior sporty package crap). They are asking for 23k. Of course this is a preliminary price. I looking to get it for 21k. I would imagine at least that price since my company has a business deal with Ford.

Yes getting my NA miata was a bargain...I got to satisfy my craving to buy a car that is RWD, has a manual transmission, and is a convertible.

yeah... I got my new car back in August, on my 25th birthday.

2003 mazda protege5 with 15,000 miles on it. cost? $0

my parents were originally going to sell it to me for 6K, which I was fine with, but had a last minute change of heart and decided to just give it to me. I think they felt bad about spending 30K on my sister's wedding while it's illegal for me to even think about getting married. heh. in any event, I got a free car, so no complaints from me

Overall, yes.

It's a long story, but the end result was that I had a 95 saturn wagon chassis with ~150k, a 94 saturn DOHC engine with 75k and a 94 manual tranny on the road for about $600cad.

No, it needed a new head gasket after about 2 1/2 months Old one blew before I'd even done 1k miles on it.

And $836 for a fully functioning car with heated seats, sunroof, and enough room to move a washer and dryer simultaneously is even better

They were asking MSRP + a 6K markup for a total of $35K. I drove off the lot for $28K (including TTL) and convinced them to give me full blue book for my trade. (Actual price I paid for the car was a little more than $500 under invoice and Ford was not giving dealer incentives for the Mustang at the time.) I think that someone ordered the car and then backed out and the dealer was stuck with it. They were incredibly pushy on the extended warranty and paint/interior protectant crap.

"You're the first person to buy one of these without the warranty you know."
"Don't you want to protect your new car?"
"If I were you, I'd really get the fabric guard to protect that leather."
"The underbody sealant is a really good deal."

They were pissed with me by the time I finally left with the car.

Yeah, those things usually come free from the manufacturer anyway lol. Amazing expensive rip offs.

I'm not asking for a good deal I'm asking for an honest deal. The MSRP is also a fabricated number. I never been a cars sales man, though I doubt even the sales person knows how much mark up is all ready on the MSRP on top of all the perks and incentives the dealer ship gets for actually selling the damn thing.

My boss had defects on his new Ford Touris. Only 8 months and the manifold developed a hole in it causing loss of compression. So not only replacing the manifold, but fixing whatever caused the problem.

I got up and started to walk out like 3 times during my talks with the dealer.

Gotta act like you don't really care if you get it or not, even if you really want it.

Yes I did.
THREAD
Trade in value- $8500.
Paid- $7300.

First 4 things I would do to a car.
1) tinted
2) New stereo system
3) lower the car so no wheel gap.
4) buy wheels that I like

1) Already tinted half way
2) Came with a professional installed system worth over $1000+ easily.
3) Already lowered
4) I already like the factory wheels.

So basically I paid $65 to have the front windows tinted so I was good to go.

But then 6 months later I bought a friends 2000 Jetta for $4K.
Not a bad deal but what the hell do I need 2 cars for ??
Shouldn't have bought it

I paid about $250 under invoice for the vehicle we purchased last week (2007 Ford Escape XLT V6). I could have also gotten $2000 cash back, but we took the promotional financing instead, which after we ran the numbers saved us way more in interest vs taking the $2000.
