Washing your hair

I've gone a few weeks without using shampoo on my hair, and it feels and looks great. All I do is give it a good rinse with cold water to get rid of the dirt.

How often do you guys wash your hair?

My hair doesn't get greasy so I hardly ever wash with shampoo. Obviously it gets rinsed every day in the shower to remove dirt/debris.

I've heard about that. I have considered trying it out, but I can't bring myself to let my hair look like shit for 4 weeks during the school year. Perhaps I'll do it in the summer.

I wash my hair every other day, to answer the question.

I have skipped showers before (normally shower once a day) and my scalp ends up being itchy. Not sure if the itching will be there if I rinse without shampoo. It might.

Once a day. I alternate between Prell and Head & Shoulders.

Once every two days in the winter, since I usually have a hat on. More often in the summer. My hair gets really greasy if I don't. Just feels weird.

Use to be twice a week with shampoo when I still had hair. Now it's once a week since I hsave it with no guard, shortest setting and reshave weekly.

Shampoo strips most of the oils out of your head; especially bad if you have a greasy scalp.

Every day. I'm black, it'd smell terrible and be greasy as a mother if I didn't.

Don't really care about hair health because I shave my head weekly. It'd take a lot to fuck up week old hair.

Let's see.....you have skin with sweat glands producing sweat and grease continually and yet you won't wash it daily like you do your other body skin. And add to that your hair acts like a catchall filter, picking up anything and everything that floats near it.....and yet you won't clean it daily.

Nasty is about all that can be said for that.

As for it strips all the oil "out of your head", whatever that means, ever consider using a conditioner to replace the moisture and oil that the shampoo removes from the hair itself? After all, not much you can really do to "hurt" your hair as its already dead when it emerges from your scalp...

I'm fairly certain that if you stop washing it, the greasy-ness subsides and mellows out.
