This is an IMPLIED NO PARKING from 4:01pm to 7:59am.

This is stated in every DMV manual i've ever seen.

No, it doesn't imply shit when there are a bunch of cars with DC and Virginia tags still parked there, moron.

Keep incriminating yourself..

someone might print out this thread and mail it to the DC Parking Violations Bureau..

btw.. the address is:

DMV Adjudication Services
PO Box 2014
Washington, DC 20013

I doubt it would be too hard for them to track down all the cars ticketed at 4:12pm near the washington monument that didn't pay their fine.

LOL what a pathetic attempt to make a comeback after realizing you couldn't back up the stupidity in your original line of repsonses. Yeah, go ahead and mail them this thread. I actually care. You do that while I have sex with your mom.

lol this just keeps getting better and better

THAT IS THE POINT OF THIS THREAD! ALL CARS PARKED THERE WERE LEGALLY PARKED AND NONE OF THEM INCLUDING MINE SHOULD HAVE BEEN TICKETED. The only thing full of shit is the space between your ears.

I'm with the OP here..everywhere I've ever been, when a street parking signs that say "2 hour parking from 9am - 6pm" means that you can park for FREE after 6pm until 9am.

The two hour limit then means that if you park at 4pm, you get the 2 hour free buffer until 6pm and it's free until the morning.

Only if it says no parking after 6pm would you not be allowed to park anymore..

LOL what??

why have a sign that saying you can park for 2hours from 9a-6p if there's free parking from 6p-9a?

why not have a sign that says "unlimited free parking forever"

or why not just remove the sign.

the sign is there to tell you when you CAN park.

if there's no sign, you can park
if there's a sign, you can park during the limited hours only.

LOL WHAT?? UNLIMITED PARKING!?!?! Let's ignore the fact that during the specified time THERE IS A 3 HOUR LIMIT.... 3 hours =/= unlimited last time I checked.

Guyver don't you need to clean your fleshlight? You don't have time to be trolling threads on ATOT with misinformation.

This will eventually bite you. One of my friends was arrested because he was passing through Saskatchewan, Canada and it turned out he never paid some public intoxication fine he got a few years back. pwned!

The reason the 2 hour parking is enforced is because the meter maids work only during normal business hours, i.e. 9am-6pm.

If you park there at at 11am, you have until 1pm to get out, otherwise you're ticketed..if you're parked at 2pm, you have until 4pm to get out..

After 6pm you're free to park until the next morning because it no one is working anymore to enforce it.

Do you live in a metro area where street parking is tough to come by?

PS The OP is a complete douche but he's in the right here.

That's how it works in Edmonton, Canada. Some of the signs even say that it's free after 6pm just to clarify. Then again the parking here doesn't have any maximum time for how long you can park. You put a coin in the machine and it adds time. If your meter says "expired" when it's being checked, you get a ticket. Doesn't matter if you were parked for 1 minute or 3 hours.

I'm guessing you missed one or two other signs that were posted along with the sign you're talking about. I've rarely seen one parking sign posted by itself in DC.

No one is working?? It's not because no one is working. It's because they need those spots available for visitors during the most busy time. So they give you a limit on time. More people can come and go. After 6pm or whatever when it's slower it doesn't matter and it's free and no limit.

True but either way the OP is correct and he shouldn't have been ticketed.

There was an area that said I could park up to 3 hours between from 8am to 4pm, and a bunch of other cars were there. There was no sign that said that I could not park there AFTER 4pm, nor was there any reason for me to believe that the 3 hour limit applied past 4pm. I parked around 3:30 pm and was walking around for about 3 hours. I came back around 6:30pm to find a parking ticket stuck under my wiper...and they want $100 for the fine.

BULLSHIT

First of all, there were a bunch of other cars parked there PAST 4pm with no tickets, and the time stamp on my ticket was 4:12pm, meaning that even if they were enforcing the 3 hour limit, I was well within that limit.

I have not been to DC in ages, and I have no plans or desire to return any time soon. Since I don't live in DC I'm leaning toward not paying it. It's pure bullshit. They signs on the side of the road were clear and I've just been victimized by some retard minimum-wage earning mouth breather who got to become a meter maid primarily for not being born as a caucasian. This really pisses me off. Anyone else NOT PAY bullshit parking tickets like this one? It doesn't seem like they'll do much if I don't pay...and a parking violation is not a "criminal offense" as a moving violation is considered...but $100. Come on. They can go fcuk themselves.

man up and pay the damn thing!!
