This is an IMPLIED NO PARKING from 4:01pm to 7:59am.

This is stated in every DMV manual i've ever seen.

I'm with the OP here..everywhere I've ever been, when a street parking signs that say "2 hour parking from 9am - 6pm" means that you can park for FREE after 6pm until 9am.

The two hour limit then means that if you park at 4pm, you get the 2 hour free buffer until 6pm and it's free until the morning.

Only if it says no parking after 6pm would you not be allowed to park anymore..

There are areas over there that have that but its pay if you park after 6. And theres actually workers who collect the money -_- (shopping area)

I hate driving and parking in DC. I usually drive to the Vienna station and take the Metro into town.
And its not just tickets, the odds that I'll get wrecked are so good its not worth the risk. Manassas drivers are aweful, but DC drivers are 10 times worse.

You aren't allowed to park there during the rush hour periods. That's the reason for the time period. It specifically means you can't park there before or after the period.

"PARKING: Two hour parking is available for the monument off of Constitution Avenue near 15th Street, but this is very limited. What was the ticket actually for? All OP says is that its a parking ticket, could have been from something else besides the time limit. He appears too stupid to read, so we may never know.
