Also, we all know you are the new Loki guy.
BAD BAD BOY!

To summarize,
(Yes, I like bulletpoints. Does that ramble? Well, I don't much care for propagandist one-liners or the latest internet "memes" - so, deal.)

- No, I'm not Mayor Fenty. However, I bet that I'm a lot closer than some of the trolls here:
# How many of you live in DC?
# If you live in DC, are you a trust-fund-teat-sucking whore?
# Either way, do you have a car - and drive it for purposes other than "social networking"?
- Yes, this is probably the only thing I'll ever post about here. I already do not like your forum.
- *No, I am not the OP*
- Yes, I have other things to do than post on internet forums. Go bathe in your "change".

Point again, for those who missed it: Personally, I wouldn't pay the parking ticket. If you feel compelled to - you may as well send me $100.

personally your an idiot Loki S13!!
Of course you wouldn`t pay the parking ticket--your parents would!
You probably donot own a car thus you are not aware that in order to register the Op`s car for the following year he will be forced to pay in order to have the car registered.....
Now go to your bedroom!!

It's funny, seeing all the people supporting the OPs position.

Your posts of this and "you're wrong" to everyone is so wonderfully and articulately put together that I have no choice but to back down and accept your victory.

Your intellect is much to high for everyone's here even though everyone else is disagreeing with you, thus, you win this round.

What a gracious way to admit defeat. Was it hard for you to come to the conclusion that my position was the correct one? You seem like a person who would have trouble admitting that you were wrong. Anyway, I applaud your effort, my friend. Perhaps next time our roles will be reversed, and I will have to be the one to admit defeat. Or perhaps not.

WHOOOOSHHHHSHSHHSH

you think the troll didn't get that? His skills are well honed, he's dangerous and a master at his craft.
And all this troll feeding has done is increase his appetite and chipped away at any timidness that he may still have.

We seriously need to stop feeding the trolls.
Then again, the entertainment value is second to none.

Sarcasm right? His trolling is pathetic as hell, I'm sure he can get people to bite as evident in this thread. But that's not saying much, some people will fall for anything. He has zero trolling skills outside, his shtick is to something retarded, add a curse word or 2 and end with "everyone knows this" And hope people will be bored/dumb enough to respond. All his trolling is identical and it lacks any sort of creativity. He puts the sauce in weak sauce.

First of all, there were a bunch of other cars parked there PAST 4pm with no tickets, and the time stamp on my ticket was 4:12pm, meaning that even if they were enforcing the 3 hour limit, I was well within that limit.

I love it when people think they're being personally persecuted by parking people. Hilarious.

Also, does anyone else here struggle with the idea of "Parking 3 hours max 8am - 4pm"? I think it's pretty straight forward. GG though.

Yes... but then parking here is -

No parking between the hours of 08:00-09:30. 09:30 - 16:00 free parking, maximum duration of stay 1 hour, no returning within 2 hours. 16:00 - 18:30 No parking. 18:30 - 08:00 free parking. Plus it says that on all the signs...

Failing that it is pay and display (or private car parks), and double yellows (do not park here).

Dude, on what street did you park? Scan of ticket?

Yeah, silly me, I should have posted that along with a scan of my drivers license, my birth cert and SSN card so you guys can get this sorted for me. -.-

Well, you do need some more straightening out. Now get that ticket scanned. Chop, chop!

Feel free to redact your vehicle registration/other personal info (if there is any...).

Text

If there was a sign saying no stopping between 4-6:30 pm, the OP is in the wrong.

The others could well be illegally parked, just that the meter maids haven't been round to catch them, or they know the area and know when the meter maids clock off (if they stop at 6, and you park illegally after that you are unlikely to get caught...).

I'm still agreeing with you up until the "No stopping" thing. You have to stop your car to park. I know that you are reading the definition of "no stopping" to mean the thing that delivery trucks and taxis do, but it's not a very strong argument. I'm totally with JS80 here - if you missed a No Stopping sign, you're screwed. If not, then I'm siding with you.

We're not redefining the English language to accomodate unjust or abusive laws. "No Stopping" is not the same as "No Parking", obviously; they're not even similar words.

You are the one redefining the English language...

Parking - noun: the act of stopping a vehicle and leaving it unoccupied for more than a brief time.

Unless you have invented a way of parking without stopping... parking = stopping.

everywhere I've ever been, when a street parking signs that say "2 hour parking from 9am - 6pm" means that you can park for FREE after 6pm until 9am.

LOL what??

why have a sign that saying you can park for 2hours from 9a-6p if there's free parking from 6p-9a?

why not have a sign that says "unlimited free parking forever"

or why not just remove the sign.

the sign is there to tell you when you CAN park.

if there's no sign, you can park
if there's a sign, you can park during the limited hours only.

Read your post very carefully. Several times if necessary.

A sign that says "unlimited free parking forever" would mean exactly that.

Parking restrictions during business hours are there to help people do their business in those areas the OP is referring to. I was just in DC myself about a month ago and wanted to understand the intent of the sign. This was corroborated by a meter maid and a local.

In this case the sign is there to let you know there is a restriction to the zone. The restriction is 3 hrs during the time listed. Obviously, after 4 pm when most are heading home, there is no reason to restrict parking to 3 hr block.

This really isn't too hard to understand. I think you're making this harder than it is. Common sense is key here.

this ATOT, common sense is no where to be found.

Guyver01 has his moments... I am tempted to bump the thread he disapproves of so much...

True but either way the OP is correct and he shouldn't have been ticketed.

Wrong.

where do you live that you haven't seen

2hr parking 8AM to 5 pm means unlimited parking after 5PM and before 8 AM

I live in the DC area and these signs are all over the place

Wrong again.

Every city I've lived or worked in has operated this way. Pittsburgh, Dallas, Denver, Nashville, and Atlanta to name a few. I've parked in these spots for several hours after the hour limit time frame and never had a ticket. My sister parked in a spot like that every day for 4 years during college and never got a ticket. You are wrong. Any sensible person understands the implied verbiage on the sign.

Wow, this thread is full of fail, not the OP but all the other useless fucking retards posting in it. If the only sign posted was a sign saying "3hr limit between 8am and 4pm" than it is perfectly legal to park there after 4pm up until 8am the next day for as long as you want.

flyingpig: You are a fucking moron.

The hypocrisy in this statement is astounding. Reminds me of a quote from a recent episode of How I Met Your Mother. "Not only are you wrong, but you are belligerently sticking to your guns and insulting in the process. You are an American."

He's a troll, there's a decent chance he actually agrees with you. But being a troll means he can't admit it. Even if he doesn't agree, and you changed his mind he would never openly admit to it. Trolls are trolls, arguing with one is pointless. He's one of the biggest turds on this site, and that's really saying something.
