IIRC, it was set for something like a 2nd week of janurary launch? Does that sound right? Anyways, just curious. Seeing as how disappoiting the latest and greatest intel chip is, I'd like to see what dual core done right looks like with higher speeds.

Whys it dissapointing? What were you expecting? I think its pretty good despite its still basically based on prescott. Its SMP gaming benchmarks were pretty impressive.

The Presler core was never designed to take the crown in performance, just increase yeild rates and reduce power consumption levels.

Yes, I think that's correct. I've got 5 that are supposed to ship to me early/mid Janurary.

I agree with cold play. Presler is not meant to capture performance crown. As based from XBITLabs comment, they are wondering why PEE955 wasn't released at 3.73GHz. It was proven that it can be overclocked to 4.26GHz at default voltage and stock cooling system.
