I just want to sympathize, because this is a tangible financial hit to the owner of high-end video card etc. setup.
I mean that the software companies should have a complete product, and the drivers should run it. Each day that passes where you can't use your hardware because of some software hold up is just another day of depreciation.
If you could somehow know ahead of time when a company's game would be compatible with a given hardware setup, then you could hold off and wait to buy your GPUs when they would actually be supported. But as it is, you have to trust that software companies will be on the ball and not drag their feet. So you have faith, invest a lot in your setup, and then it's a big let down as your stuff goes unused. Then when you actually get to use it, the hardware value has dropped enough to just be very frustrating. It's especially galling because software companies and hardware companies get income from first adopters who are the big spenders. You piss them off, then it's a trickle-down effect. You'd think that the hardware companies would put a little more emphasis on getting software right so people want to keep buying the high-end cards.
Imagine 6 months of depreciation :'(
