Did you even know this game was out?

After all the fanfare that accompanied W2, i would expect W3 to have a similar level of promotion attached to it. I haven't heard a peep.

It's a whopping £55 for the basic edition so i won't be buying it for now - there is no way i can motivate that kind of money for a single-player, single-campaign game.

I'm pretty sure someone posted about it on here. It's something I want to try because I enjoyed the second game. It's just not $60 worth it to me. So it's more than likely a next year consideration.

I played a lot of it on the weekend, some dark choice, lotsa foul language, combat feels better than the last one

I'll eventually get it. I enjoyed WL2 quite a lot. The thing with WL2 (and it sounds like WL3) is....even though it's single player, you have to make several runs through the game (making different choices) to experience everything.

Getting it on sale should mean good bang for the buck.

I knew it was out, but unfortunately the timing is bad. Just a slew of games have been coming out that interest me more, so I will probably wait to get on a steam sale (like everyone else).

Tried playing through Wasteland 2 a while ago (especially as a big fan of the original fallouts) but the game's kickstarter roots, general jankiness, and lo-fi 3D shone through and got me to stop.

I even recall finding the game somewhat interesting but it was just different than what i thought it was going to be in the beginning. Its more like a fallout tactics game than a full on RPG and I think that sent me sideways.

If I'm wrong in my estimation let me know and I'll give the game another shot.

From what I've seen of Wasteland 3, the game just looks like it got that bit of extra spit shine to look like a solid A or AA title.

I haven't played Fallout Tactics, so I cannot compare. But WL2 was definitely a bit on the low-budget side. It was InXile's first kickstarter I think. Way back when kickstarting was new.

But I enjoyed it. One of the things I like about InXile games is that choices always seem to matter.

If you do try WL2 again, make sure you're playing the Directors Cut....it added a lot of refinements.

WL3 was also a kickstarter and was made in Detroit, MI. Similar to Bards Tale IV, InXile opened a new studio for the game in a new city after receiving tax incentives to do so. It's clever financial management and allows them to stretch backer dollars even further. But it's not without risk. I mean...Detroit, MI isn't exactly a hotbed for game developers. You have to convince talented people to move there.

But WL3 had the benefit of being released after MSFT acquired InXile, so I suspect it had plenty of budget for QA and polish before release (unlike BTIV). I supsect that's why it looks like it's got that extra bit of shine.

I've played it a bit on gamepass. Seems ok, pretty much like a more polished WL2. However I just don't find the universe that interesting.

I beat the game this weekend on the 3rd difficulty, wasn't that hard at all. overall, "more of the same but better" of WL2.
I encountered almost no bugs in gameplay (huge improvement over WL2), but there were annoying times when i had to shoot up a ramp and miss a 95% shot because the bullets collided with an obstacle. guess it was intended?
loading times even on SSD are still long (upto 35 seconds in big areas), and i'm the kind of player which quick-saves, strips a weapon for mods and quick-loads if i don't get what i need
one big change is that in this game you can't remove mods once installed, which makes you think twice before installing the rare mods.
there is of course a lot of replayability, but i've over-dosed on the game. i don't feel a need to replay with a different party ("plot NPCs") and see how it goes.
i really enjoyed it, obviously since i'm a big TBS fan, ran for about 50 hours explored the entire map (there is no second map like WL2 california), i'd give it a 85/100.

Looks like they patched the loading times pretty significantly in the last few days. That was annoying for me as well, but I haven't gotten to see how much it's improved as I just got back into town last night.
