I don't even put any products in my hair to straighten it or make it shiny. The straightener does all the work.

Awesome. I might just have to go for it. I've tried so many others and they never work.

Thanks!

And Welcome

Have you read the reviews for it on folica.com?

I believe the purpose of life is to enjoy it while you have it and to make the world a better place for those around you.
Spending time on the internet is not wasting your life in my opinion.

OH OH
I just bought a high end flat iron too and I am sooooooooooooooo happy!

What size is yours? Mine is 1.5 inches but I might get a 3/4 inch one.

Do you put any product on your hair to protect it from the heat?

edit: welcome to the forums.

Mine's 1.5. I'm happy with it because my hair is fairly long.

No, I'm not really familiar with any products that do that. I usually only use shine/anti-frizz and moisturizing products. With my new straightener, I rarely need anything. With all this straightening though, it'd probably be a good idea if I found some products that protect. Do you know of any good ones?

I had a look at your pics... Saw the first two with curly hair and thought:

"Whoa. She's hot. Nice curly hair, playful expression, and beautiful eyes. Definitely a tidy bit of kit."

Then I clicked on the second two, with straight hair and thought:

"Still hot, but now more common."

You look hottest with curly hair. Oh, and I'm trying to be diplomatic here, but you may want to have your eyebrows cleaned up a bit.

You're only wasting your life with archcommus.

If that is the best you have to offer, you should find other forums. If it was intended as sarcasm, you failed to indicate it.

This is your one warning.

I actually psychoanalyzed the typical anandtech off topic forum persona last night while trying to fall asleep (I suffer from insomnia...) and came to the revelation that,... with the mass conglomeration of the internet with popular culture, is that chat bubbles like these only point out to me the greater faults of humanity.

Anandtech - are the people who didn't receive enough attention when they were younger, they have to compare and contrast aspects of their lives with other people to feel normal. Though, from time to time this changes. They brag about things most often...

Hardforum - psycho hillbillies with too much money and no sense randomly sticking together pc components that have mysteriously appeared in their presence. Kind of like the apes with the bones in 2001.

stellar - you have fantastic curly hair - what products do you use? I end up straightening mine all the time because it's so much more manageable, but sometimes I'd like to go curly but I end up with a frizzy mess instead.

eyecandy - i have this one http://www.folica.com/CHI_Ceramic_Fla_d6.html and it works great

If you're really serious about finding her one, I highly recommend mine: Sedu. It's expensive but worth it. It takes me 15 minutes to straighten all of my hair, which is very curly.

Another good one is the Solia. It's a little less expensive, and you can use it on wet hair. I don't have experience with it, but the reviews are good.

I suggest just looking around the site and reading all the customer reviews. That's what helped me.

Haha, I actually ordered your hair straightener from that website after reading your boyfriend's thread about your hair. I did think your hair was really cute curly, though. My hair's super frizzy and tough to control, and the reviews at folica were very convincing. The straightener was backordered, though, so I'll be getting it in about a week or two.

Oh, and welcome to the forums. I followed my boyfriend here, too. It's pretty addictive and good for passing the time. Don't take anything people say too seriously, though. There's a really wide variety of people on here and sometimes people can be kind of harsh.

Enjoy!

eyecandy - i have this one http://www.folica.com/CHI_Ceramic_Fla_d6.html and it works great

Lately for shampoo and conditioner I've been using Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine. It works great. I used to use Pantene's shampoo and conditioner for curly hair, and those worked very well, but I stopped now that I straighten more often.

When I striaghten my hair, I usually don't use anything. My straightener is really good at making my hair shiny and frizz free. Occasionally I'll use a bit of anti-frizz serum. Doesn't matter which. They all work the same for me.

When I leave my hair curly I use Philip Pelusi's Honey and Pantene's Curl Lock hairspray. Honey can be expensive, but it lasts a LONG time.
