1. violence, or the threat of violence, is not validation.

2. the (as far as we know) marines in the video acted directly contrary to the principles our society is based upon and which they took an oath to defend.

3. your "leftist hippies" have every right, as determined by the constitution and confirmed by the supreme court of the united states, to fly the flag upside down. they can also wipe their asses with it for all i, or the constitution, care.

A Marine or whatever other military person is a regular person like you and I. They are no different. They happened to have volunteered for the service for whatever purpose. I don't know the reason why we should hold them up on a pedestal.
