my favorites have always been the breitlings.

but for us folk with a budget more like $400 i think this watch looks mean as hell. love the blue accenting. just wish the crystal was sapphire but i get plenty of compliments on this watch

I have the same watch, but the non-chrono version.

that's pretty nice but i'm a sucker for the 3 little dials on any watch.

this is the brother watch to mine. i like the metal with the 4 screws more than the metal mount for the blue one. really cool. but i'm a blue guy, don't wear anything with red but blue is my favorite color. but this is another nice watch for y'all

Here's what I have incoming. I've been researching bronze watches for a while, and this was the best one I found (in my price range). I also checked out the Benarus Moray in bronze, and the Helson Shark Diver in bronze.

I currently own two citizen watches. One I got for about 120 and the other I got for about 200-250. Always wanted an automatic though.

I can't tell if its the marketing photo but I love this watch.

I agree. I'm currently leaning more towards the omega seamaster although my fiancee is trying to convince me to go for the Breitling Galactic 41

I think they're both beautiful watches but it's something about omega's clean, non-flashy (i.e. brushed finish and not chrome exterior), very utilitarian design that speaks to me.

I really, really dislike that Breitling (and most other Breitlings). Do they even do a brushed finish?

that is one ugly breitling. and i like a bunch of their stuff. that square in the middle just throws everything off. without that it would be ok.

hello there I am new and looking for information regarding a watch bracelet I was offered a while ago...

I have what appears to be a "white" metal bracelet covered in 18 k plated gold. The salesperson claims that the white metallic part of the bracelet is sterling silver.

I would like to know more about the bracelet and the maker, as I am now trying to sell it... I have been told by gold/silver buyers that it looked like steel more than anything else.
I have checked whether or not the bracelet was magnetic : it does not appear so. The only information available on the bracelet is "FS" on the clasp, and the back of the clasp reads "AMERIK" and then, there's a tiny round logo with what looks like either an "S" or something else combined with an "S", can't read it exactly as the bracelet is now over 20 years old.

Any idea how I can find info on this watch strap ? I have searched long and large for "FS AMERIK" and all I found was watches for sale on eBay... Who built those bracelets, is there a way to track ? a catalogue of some sort ?

Thank you for your help guys ! Sorry if this is the wrong place to post, sorta new and making my way around

The bracelet most likely came off of a Soviet-era Sekonda Amerik FS. This was a Soviet watch and would almost certainly never have been sold with a sterling silver bracelet. These were inexpensive watches that would have sold for less than $100 in today's dollars (probably more like $50), so were not made of fine materials. I don't know of any watch manufacturer who uses a vermeil (i.e., gold over sterling) bracelet, but if any do it would be on much more expensive watches.

The bracelet on your watch is almost certainly stainless steel. The fact that it is not magnetic does not mean it isn't steel. Many stainless steels do not attract a magnet. http://www.scientificamerican.com/article/why-dont-magnets-work-on/ I also wouldn't be shocked, given its Soviet construction, if the gold-colored plating is not actually gold. The upshot is that this bracelet has little or no value.

Aw
thank you for the info not surprised, the gold seemed to wear off so quickly, and the edges of the mesh strap became sharp and out of place in no time, much to my dismay. Couldn't really wear the watch without scratching my arm... thought I could at least try to recycle the thing.
