If the Padres are all that, then how come the Dodgers beat them 2 out of 3 this weekend and are in first place over both the Padres and the Giants?

Because...the A's are the best team in California!

GO A'S!

Oh...and this is a great post OP. Now I can watch A's games down here in San Diego.

But then I signed up for Free MLB All Access pass on MLB.com (Of course forever=as long as your paying for your DSL ) Then I un-installed the MSN Premium program.

And I haven't yet had to resort to setting up a Proxy to watch my local team. Just call up MLBTV.com and ask for a new token, and you should be set.

BUT this might not work if you use your credit card to pay for MLBTV.com, as they use your CC Billing info. But since I never used a credit card, I just called them up and gave a zip code across the country as my 'home' address. Sure it's not honest, but I don't have/want cable TV here, so I gotta do whatever I can to watch my Cubbies

GO CUBS!

3 questions:

proxy server is very slow, can i change it back on real player? if so how?

MLB ask me to sumit a credit card for address verfication, how to get around this?

I am not a mets fan, but their game has been pulled on time warner system in NYC, does the black out rule still apply?

1) There are sites out there listing a great many proxy servers, here's one. Sometimes you have to try a few before you find one that will allow you to watch and which is fast enough, but I seem to have found one now that's rather permanent, been using it for a few days with no problem.
2) Not sure, sorry. I have credit cards and so I just put in my # when asked.
3) Use a proxy server located outside the blackout area, and you should be able to view the game no problem. I haven't been unable to watch a game due to blackout despite having put in my credit card for address verification. It seems to determine where you are based on IP.

Another tip - use a different browser than what you normally use. eg. I usually use Mozilla FireFox, but I'm using IE6 to view games. This lets me use the proxy server in IE6 for watching games while browsing the web using FireFox without the proxy server in between slowing things down (it doesn't adversely affect watching games though).

Sorry if my reply wasn't clear. They seem to determine where you are for blackout purposes by your IP address, not your home address. I put in my credit card information for verification and have been able to get around blackouts no problem.

I can't read all this and not join in...GO 'stros!

Ok, so I know the Astros are stinkin it up this year...it's painful. But I'm a true diehard fan, so I still watch a lot of the games.

Who knows, maybe they'll come back and win the wild card! And if they do, watch out! Because they have a 'Great' post-season record (catch the sarcasm).

Nonetheless, GO ASTROS!!

Thanks OP! Wathced both the Giants and A's tonight.

Its been a while since I've used streaming video, and the quality is just amazing! I can fullscreen the picture, and from 5 feet away its hard to tell the difference from an analog cable broadcast.

This is so good (and addicting), that I might just get this service next year...do they have this for the NBA, NFL?

I would love to able to watch my Warriors basketball here in San Diego.

Is there a link to the 3 month trial? I only see a 2 month trial @ $14.95/mo at join.msn.com. Thanks!

NM-- I wasn't on the MAIN page... found it... Now to Proxy to watch the Cubbies lose.
