Watch NFL playoffs or work

OK, so I have a conundrum here, where I work I just went to 7x10s, so thats nice and all, working 70 hours a week means I make absurd amounts of money TBH, but at the same time, it means missing most of the playoffs . So, I have a poll for ya'll, would you work for the 400$ a day, or watch the games. I REALLY love football, but with a 400$ opportunity cost it just doesn't seem right, what would yall do?

PS: I currently spend less then 50% of my income, so its not like I *need* the monies, but in this economy, it seems good to make money while the making is good, you never know when your job is gonna go byw byw ...

Well, coming out of college last May with a GPA less than 3.0 I didn't really expect to be making big bucks. I mean yeah, my dad makes as much money working 40 hours as I would make working 70, but when your 23 it seems pretty good :roll:. I guess maybe it seems different when you are college kid used to 20$ being a big investment to suddenly be making hundreds of dollars a day...

If it's something you really enjoy, take the time off. Personally, if my team wasn't in the playoffs, I wouldn't bother and probably just take off the day of the Superbowl.

well, 70 hour weeks are just part of the progression. We started af 4x10, then 5x10, then 6x10, then 7x10, next will be 7x12, not sure we will ever exceed that except during the outages maybe. Ya know how it is, when there is 2 million dollars lost for every day of delay there is sort of a push to be on schedule. Not to mention there are deadlines set by outside regulators like the NRC which would be bad to miss. If this work isn't done on time it will mean like 50+ million dollars lost, and I am the only one working on it.

Don't even hesitate to work it. I worked about 740 hours of OT in 8 months during 2008 and yeah I did miss most of the NFL season because I worked 7 days a week but being an engineer on hourly fucking rocked. I don't regret it because I saved a ton of money. My OT is going to start back up in April and you bet I will get 700 hours of OT again. You can't leave money on the table, I don't care how old you are especially with this shitty economy. Remember, those players are making millions. Look after yourself and fuck professional athletes.

One piece of advice is to live off of the 40 hour a week salary and bank the extra cash.
