8882810639 - who calls me?

They just nailed me for a $9.45 charge on my debit/Master card. Apparently from that page they've been around a long time and all they do is run a scam. You'd think they'd be shut down by this point, but what do I know?

Reported a fraudulent charge to the bank, and they said I have to go file a report, probably with a notary and get a new card. When the CR asked me if I let anyone else use the card, I tell her it's for my own personal use, on internet and such- and then she said it was my own fault because internet sites are more vulnerable than retail....Uh...OK...Like, TJX...BJ's...BOB's? Hmmmm, I was going to school her, but it just wasn't worth the effort.

Anyways, now I have to get a new card. Don't let that $9 charge slip by if you see it.

I thought you don't get the same protection with a debit card than with a CC?

Depends on the bank.

My bank is local and privately owned (not BoA or Citizens or any of the other lameass big banks with tons of fees).

My bank will remove disputed charges immediatley without question. They conduct an investigation and say that if they find out I'm filing a false claim I can be responsible once the investigation is over but that never happens and they don't wait for the investigation to be over to credit my account. Personal service is nice. My bank, you call their 800 # and a person actually answers the phone.

Depends on the bank.

After spending over 30mins on hold, wanting to eat dinner, there becomes a limit to the amount of patience one person has.

And if I knew how that charge got there then that would probably put that place out of business. Apparently everyone who's gotten the charge has no idea how it's shown up. I assume it must have shown up from a b&m purchase at one of the retailers like BJ's who's database has been hacked in the past number of months. I sincerely doubt they got me over the internet.

It's funny, I'm with one of those so-called "lameass big banks" (Wachovia) and I get everything you get.

Sounds like a lot of hassle. Debit cards are for suckers. When I go to dispute something on my Chase CC, I can do the whole thing online. At the end of the process they ask for "documentation" online but I never get around to sending it in by the time it is reversed..a couple times a waiter gives themselves too much tip, they remove the whole charge, rather than just reducing it a few bucks works for me.

While they're at it, they should legislate the death penalty for ID theft.

Might discourage the scumbags.

Remember, this is a debit card backed up by a CC company (meaning I never use it as a debit card, I only use it as a check card)- the whole point of this is to stop illegal charges. God knows how these charges get there.

It's really the bank's fault (apparently more than one) for allowing this place to stay in business all this time.

How could this company get your CC# to charge your account? From stolen credit information?

Apparently so. Remember companies like TJX had break-ins (if you can call it that, they usually use little to no security at all for their wireless networks) accounting for 40million+ customers, and that's only one company. There have been many others as of late.
