Water cooling for under $100?

My friend wants to buy a watercooling system for her boyfriend and she asked me about it, but I don't know anything about water cooling anymore. Is it possible to do it for under $100?

i know nothing about water cooling except it makes me squeemish thinking i'd screw it up

thats gonna be tough to do if you want it custom,but if you just want a cheap kit you can buy an Aquarius II WC kit for around $100 but it is all that great of a kit,you can run into leaks and stuff but it's up to you.

check out aquastealth.com I believe it is; they have a kit I was pointed to buy an amd'er who has 2 and really likes them. They're more upgradable.

After xmas shopping madness subsides (and my credit card bounces back) I'm going to snag one - with the reservoir upgrade - he says they're reliable and you can use them for o/clocking, not just a quiet case. I've never really tried overclocking but a few folks at amd like them and as I say I like the fact you can upgrade them.

Advice from a fellow cooling noob is no help I know but check them and ask around at amd. Or here

If you want to DIY you can get:

Danner Mag3 (350GPH): $35
Maze3 cpu block (1/2"ID): $40
1984 Chevette Heater Core: $17 (Autozone)
1/2"ID vinyl tubing: $0.21/ft (home depot)
Tubing Clamps: $2
Distilled Water:$1 (wal-mart)


Reservoirs are not needed, but do make bleeding easier than with a t-line.

Although if you are buying for someone else it is probably better to go with a kit as you do not want your gift to turn into a huge hassle for them.

i dont think you will find a good watercooling system under $100 unless you make it yourself. else air cooling would still be better there.
