This is absolutely correct. The only other things you will need are hose clamps (cheap) and antifreeze (or other corrosion/biological growth inhibitor).

No. That system was pretty outrageous. I did that to get low water temps and because I like to build stuff. A regular watercooling setup fits in your case.

once you go into watercooling the only feasable option is to do it your self. i am working on this system that uses a bunch of car radiators to build the case. the main problem with most watercooling systems is that the radiator is so small. if you have a 120MM radiator, then it will only dissipate as much heat as a 120MM heatsink. and plus, home made watercooling is cheap, my friend made his for $32.60. as for heatblocks, just use large chunks of copper you can buy at the scrap yard... its all pretty simple.

Pelikan, I've tried both the T-line and a Rez and the Rez does give me better load temps even over a long period of time. 38degrees versus 44, ambient was 24 on those two days. I guess more water circulating in the system may have helped. I have a 120mm fan pushing air through the rad at full speed. The case has 3 other fans running full speed moving air around.

A 6C drop in temps is a lot, that's great. However, it is impossible for the extra water in a res to give lower temps. Its a matter of physics. You must have had air in your system, or some other problem, when you had a t-line.
