Hey guys,

I need some help, I previously had the Kingwin water cooling but it failed once I booted up.
It hit 60 C within a few minutes.

I was able to overclock it to 2.2 stable but I cant cool the chip.

I currently have the stock HSF on and its running 54 C under load.

I need a water cooling solution to keep it below 40 C under load.

Please help.

Expensive=Swiftech Storm (rev 2)
Cheap(er)=DD TDX

So, do you just need the CPU Block, or do you need the whole thing?

The Kingwin water cooler isn't as good as top of the line air, I owned one.
As well as Wizboy's questions, a budget would help. And do you want kit or parts?

Edit: My 1000th post! Do I get a cookie?

Custom DIY is always the best

Swifty and DD tdx require a highflow pump such as the Danger Den or even the swifty mcp650(not sure what model its at now). If you have a video card block you still should be fine. Anymore you may need to move up to stronger/ more expenisve pumps. The top of the line water pumps are prob Iwaki pumps.

Heatercore or rad its up to you. The major difference is the heatercore was not desgined to be in a computer but most rads have a computer cases in mind so they can be mounted easier. Also the heatercore is not as pretty looking as a radiator but it does the job and its dirt cheap(16 bucks at your local auto supply store for a 66 chevette heatercore) One more thing about heatcores, you have to modify them with barbs which is very easy to do. THere are several rads to choose from. Single/double/triple 120mm radiators from different brands such as Black Ice Extreme, Thermochill, Jteck, Wa2 (amdmb)..etc.

Resevoir you choice. You can have one or not. If you do get one there are several types such as bay res, tube res, internal res, external res..etc

1/2 tubing. The best is tygon but any 1/2 od with a fairly thick inner diameter tubing will do.

There you go. Read the stickies at the top of the page and you will get the info you're looking for. The guys over there are very knowledgable about H20 cooling.

Are you guys sure it will support and keep the chip under 40 C?

I dont see under the specifactions that it supports dual core.

I still stand by my first post. And any custom built WC system will be better than anything you can buy.
Expensive: Swiftech Storm
Cheaper: DD TDX or the MP-05?

If your looking for a complete system, check this out for my system which is pretty high end.

If your looking for something a little cheaper, you can go with the MP-05, MCP655, BIP2, and the Maze 4. Anyone else agree with me?

The problem is, I dont really want to assemble my system since I dont know much.

this is why I was hoping for a really nice kit that works great.

So what are you going to do if it runs at 45C? Sue Anand?

Seriously, no one here can tell you for sure that it will run at a certain temp.

You've gotten some good suggestions here. In keeping with your 40C mandate, it seems like you want the best cooling performance possible. As stated by essasin and wizboy, a DIY custom setup will give better performance than a kit. My WC rig uses Swiftech waterblocks and pump, with a double heatercore and 2 - 120mm fans. 1/2 tubing and no reservoir, just a t-line. That's some serious bang for the buck.

Some good sites are overclockersclub.com, extremeoverclocking.com and overclock.net. These guys have WC really wired.

Good luck with the temps, and have fun with your build,

DE
