Anyone care to share their experiences? I am at the brink of trying and don't want to waste $$$

No hands-on experience to share... but... when you go water-cooling you ARE wasting your money. (If you don't happend to be able to build it all completely by yourself.)
All creds to you if you just wants to play around with things just for fun, but water cooling is not a very cheap hobby.

Get a kit from Danger Den. They include everything and have the latest tech. Kits start at $179.00, if I remember right.

Anybody ever have a "rupture" in one of their lines? Or even a small leak seems as though it could wreak havoc.

For $179, I'd rather buy a refrigerator to put my PC in if I was that desperate to cool it down!!!

Hey, what a great idea.

I cannot use watercooling since air temperature would not allow heat dissipation (at the end, watter just moves the heat from the chip to a farther fan+HS). I think I'll get the freezer and put the PC inside. Wait, I'll need a dehuumidifier too. Ja, ja, ja.

I really cannot find a way to cool down my PC!!!

Damn, for $179, I'd get a window A/C unit, cool the PC down, and cool me down...

Of course, then there's that montly recurring electrical bill, but damn, A/C in here would be awesome.

How would you take care of condensation? There are systems that will lower the temperature to subzero, but they're far more expensive than $179.

Anyways, there are certain benefits to watercooling... one is the noise, but of course the most important one is the cooling. And no, no highend fan system can come close to a proper watercooling system, especially one with a peltier.

As for rupturing, it doesn't happen, because you shouldn't be lugging your system around. Watercooling will definitely add some weight to your system. There are other dangers though, such as pump failing. If you have a watercooling system, get some of those UV dyes and you'll have a sweet looking setup. These things look like the blood from the Predator movies.

After overclocking for years with Panaflo 120mm fans(old aluminum ones) and using Antec cases with front metal removed where the fans are located, I decided to try watercooling. I went all out and ordered a Koolance 601 case ready to run. I am using an Abit IS-7 m.b with Twin LL Corsair DDR400 memory(2 512 sticks), a retail P4-2.8C cpu and easily overclocked to 3.5Ghz at a constant 30-31 celsuis temp. I also am using ATI 9800pro, Maxtor ulstra133 7200 120Gb & 80Gb hard drives, Klisph ultra promedia 5.1, Audigy2 soundcard, Samsung 191T LCD.

I haven't tried to go any higher as the system has been extremely stable and very good perdormance. I just wanted to try something different and get it out of my system. Watercooling is very expensive if you purchase ready to go. Mine cost $470 with shipping, extra hard drive cooling kit, video card cooling and extra accessories.

You guys be the judge. It's a very quiet system, but expensive.

only two months ago, i had a run of the mill airplane hangar sounding system.

once i entered the AT forums, i got some good information on quiet air cooling.
i've since changed my case to an antec slk3700 (knockoff), quiet 120mm fan changed to 7 volts, quiet seasonic PSU, quiet zalman HSF.

now my system is TONS quieter. and for some reason, i'm more irritated by the noise than before!! i guess our wants are determined by the environment we live. and everyday i cruise the forums, i see posts by people who have their systems totally silent.

ANYWAY. my next system will be water for sure. i want to be able to have a fanless PSU, and just ONE case fan at 7volts. anyway you slice it, that's awesome.

A good watercooling kit, thats has pre-picked parts, and performs almost as well as custom picked parts one, is the AseTek WaterChill.
