Watercooled kit, temps are still the same!?!??!

i recently changed my setup a mcx4000 heatsink with a 80mm tornado fan, my config is a 2.53 oc'ed to 3.5. now with that said my idle on that was about 48 to 49, and at load about 65. now i just bought the swiftech 22501?"EXTREME" SERIES LIQUID COOLING KITS now i figured it saying "extreme" it would actually be a good kit. i bought a kit so i could understand the basics of water cooling before i went and made my own. and i have the Swiftech MCW5000-P water block. now!! my idle temp is about 50 to 52 with the water cooling kit, and low 60's when load. what the heck gives??? what did i do wrong? yes i know i bought a kit! but still it was freaking expensive and its swiftech, and its like the best one they make, does that not account for anything? well any help would be greatly appreciated. i want my temps to be around low 40's or high 30's that would be nice. does anybody think i should get new 120mm fans on the radiator? maybe, or a new radiator itself? or how about a new water pump? whats holding me back? Thanks!

I've heard that top of the line air cooling, esp. with a tornado, will give about the same temps as a water cooling kit. A good pump and block will really improve things.

I have never heard nor read that watercooling will lower temps dramatically. Water cooling was implemented to cut down on noise more than anything. Yea, you might save a few degrees, but it all comes down to implementation. I am currently building a water cooled system, and I expect it to be somewhat quieter. I'm going with a P4 2.8 or more. I'm using a 120mm radiator with 2 fans (push, pull), Maze 4 CPU block, 875p chip block, 2 Hydor L30's and a custom reservior. I have pictures if anyone is interested. Just email me @ stevennoland0146@msn.com and I'll send em to ya. Suicidalpstcho12, does your kit have 3/8" id fittings? If so, they won't give you a good flow like 1/2" would. Good luck.

well yes i do have 3/8 but i know 1/2 would be better but i still dont feel that, that would cause all of the problems. hmmm well i will try getting new fans, and maybe a new water pump? i have a good water block. any other help would be appreciated. thanks guys.

sometimes mbs will read temps from the air around the socket, so previously your tornado kept that area cool...now there is stagnant hot air around there and will read artificially high. put a fan over the area and watch your temps drop.

well anybody got a link to where i can read up on it? it sounds something i would be interested in. ive heard you can modify your own power supply and make it peltier ready. is this true?

well after a few weeks of trying things, testing, and underclocking, i have finally decided my temp on my chip will always be about the same. high 40's is what i finally came to get from idle, and high 50's to low 60's is what i have from load. i think my chip will just run hot since it is at 1.65 volts and is running 3.5ghz thank you everyone for all your advice.
