Watercooling for MSI gtx 760?

Would it work if I used watercooling for this?

That being said I thought 760's already ran cool and quiet?

Mine's been getting up to the high 70s lately. Quiet, yes. Cool? Not very.

20C reduction in core temp. Almost complete elimination of fan noise as I have the radiator push-pulled by two sub 1200 rpm 120mm fans. VRM cooling is handled by side case fan also under 1200 rpm. VRM's are 5-10c cooler than stock.

My starting point was a really cheapo powercolor though. The stock cooling was atrocious.

How old is your card?

Around half a year old. I cleaned out the dust bunnies but the other dust stuck in the fan is too narrow to clean out.

Well if you have money and are looking for a project watercooling your card is fun. If you don't want to spend the money but need the card to run cooler you can try a more aggresive fan profile and/or taking the card apart to clean and re-paste. Both usually yield measurable temp reductions.

I don't see why it wouldn't work. I have a pair of those on my 7970s and they've been working great for about 6 months now. Soooo much cooler and quieter.

Other than making a mess too much paste shouldn't cause any temperature issues.

Yes. It's always been at 100% when I first got it.

I'm not sure, I have a fan on the side panel directly above the GPU to try to cool it down. I'll have to update when I get home.

Kinda anxious on ordering it, considering that I dunno if the cooler will fit on the card or not. It says it will but each card is different so I dunno

EDIT: I looked more into the page, it's only an adapter to use a CPU cooler on it rather than have it be it's own thing.

Yeah, you have to order an AIO cooler to go with it.

I would email MSI or NZXT to be sure. I don't think the MSI board is reference.

Those are good coolers though.

I've been running an AIO system on my GTX680 for the last 2+ years. I highly recommend them, however, you need to add heastsinks to VRMs. Easy enough to tell where you need them, just look for what the factory heatsink has cooling (pads?) and , excluding memory(which really needs no cooling) and you will be fine.

As to fit, you should have no problems, except that the Fan hangs past the videocard - on most 670's - have really small PCB's
