How much of a difference?Says it's compatible with gtx 760. I'm a believer in AIO cooled GPUs. I red modded a 7950 and was impressed with the temp and noise reductions.
That being said I thought 760's already ran cool and quiet?
20C reduction in core temp. Almost complete elimination of fan noise as I have the radiator push-pulled by two sub 1200 rpm 120mm fans. VRM cooling is handled by side case fan also under 1200 rpm. VRM's are 5-10c cooler than stock.
My starting point was a really cheapo powercolor though. The stock cooling was atrocious.
How old is your card?
Well if you have money and are looking for a project watercooling your card is fun. If you don't want to spend the money but need the card to run cooler you can try a more aggresive fan profile and/or taking the card apart to clean and re-paste. Both usually yield measurable temp reductions.
I reapplied the paste yesterday but when my new motherboard came in it didn't seem to make a difference. Maybe I put too much on there, i'm not sure.
Other than making a mess too much paste shouldn't cause any temperature issues.
When the GPU is reaching high 70's is the fan running at 100%?
If you run it with the side panel of the case off does it run much cooler?
If you've already got a side panel fan then probably not. Well that rules out all the cheap cooling ideas I have.
So, got your Kraken on order yet?
