There is no whining from my 655-B and I don't mind the lower setting of "4" for the cost savings. I got mine for $45 shipped.

AWESOME ... >.>, I order my Sanyo Denki fans and they show in stock and I get this ...
"The Sanyo Denki Fan is out of stock. However we have this fan that has a quieter motor and comparable performance. Let me know if we can credit you the different the panaflow is actually less money yet in my opinion a quieter smother operating fan... We will not be reordering Sanyo Denki... They are very loud and they do not like to be slowed down... when slowed down with a fan controller they get louder and make a growling type sound. I know there is some hype going on about these fans but I particularly do not like them."
mhmmm, so ummm ... when are you going to show them not in stock? :|

Now I have to look for them in another place or buy another fan. I'll check out the other fans you listed Ian if I can't find another San Ace.

I ordered it from there, but they told me they were out of stock and that they wouldn't be restocking. That is where my post comes into play where I say I will try looking for them in another place.

Well I sent an email to them asking to clarify, and they will most likely know nothing about the fan other than what is on the website. >.>

Ah at least a store that actually carries them, thanks Aigo! I can wait because at least they carry them and don't lie like subzeropcs.com.

What are some other high CFM fans are out there that I can use with a radiator (with characteristics like the Yate Loons)?

I want high CFM fans because they will be connected to a fan controller anyway and I can set the speeds to whatever I am doing.

Since you're going to fan control your fans consider using a 120x38mm. They'll supply a lot of static pressure in general and deliver better performance across the RPM spectrum. If I may ask, what's the construction of your rad? Thick or thin, high FPI or low?

I don't know, but it's either going to be a Black Ice GTX 240 or a Thermochill PA102.2 with 2 120x38mm Sanyo Denki San Ace fans .

Not really. PA performance scales up nicely wih more powerful fans.

yeah but it gets outpaced by the HWLabs GTX 240 with those fans.

The design of the PA is ment for silent operataion. It not the best, unless your looking for quiet with the best.

Also usually the fans used on the PA is something fairly quiet.

Hmm, so what you're saying is that a GTX 240 would be better off than a PA120.2 with the San Aces?

The only thing that can suck worse is this:

Hello Mario.

Thanks for your inquiry.

We are uncertain at this time when we will have them back in stock.

They come to us directly from Japan when we order them, and the typical lead time is 8 to 10 weeks.
However, we must also purchase a minimum order of 500 fans to get a reasonable and profitable price break, and we are not prepared to do that at the moment.

With the latest price increases and transport charges, they are becoming almost too expensive to stock anymore, especially when we have to tie up $9K in inventory on a few part numbers just to be able to have them.

We suggested using the Sanyo Denki 109R1212H101, as a replacement for the 109R1212H101, but we also ran out of those last week.

I'm sorry I don't have better news about the situation.

Thanks again,

Dan Buchanan

... besides you knowing my name now , it sucks cause if they don't restock it's gonna suck even worse because I won't be able to get my Sanyo Denki fans! Unless I find another store that has them ...

I tried ordering there first, but they told me they were loud and would not undervolt (liars) and that they would not re-order them. I can try orderin. .. ... . . . not, I called them and told me themselves they didn't have it.

get the UK's then as per in your PM.

Either way with the UK's the GTX is still a better radiator.

Whoa, the static pressure chart shows that the UK3 needs to be running that high to have 80pa ... >.>

but on the other hand I really don't have an idea of what kind of pressure is needed for what ...

and here is the Panaflo U1Cs static pressure chart!

I just wish I could get those San Ace H1011s and get this over with ...

I'd have to see an official comparison to REALLY believe this, PA 120.2 v. GTX 240. Slightly higher FPI density for the 240 should give it an advantage with "screamer" fans, but the converse is just as likely. Also, IMO, "usually" doesn't equate to "must." If I was of a mind to mount, say, some Delta's, I'd go for a relatively low FPI rad. Mostly to avoid some unneeded noise and to present less restriction to my fans. Any performance hit I'd take for this I'd simply live with. It's a balancing act, as usual, right buddy?

Fan choices for rads has always been elastic, and with the expanding choices we have, with both rads AND fans, that ain't about to stop.

HW let me introduce you to a really good friend of mine and his website.

The guy's name is martin, and he does a lot of custom stuff for me, as well as custom testing.

Infact he's soooo good, we expect him to be the next bill adams.

http://www.martinsliquidlab.com/

Check out the raditor test. You'll see a 360GTX outpace a PA with good fans. San Ace and UK's are considered excellent fans.

So we can scale the rads down one size and hold the ratio.
