OK,
my question. I'll receive my Alpha PAL8045 in a week, and my question is, is water cooling quieter than only 2x Papst 8412NGL (12dbA) Fans in my computer? One is in the PSU and one will be on the HS.
watercooling has the noise of the pump.. (low brrrrrrrmmm sound) and the 120mm fan on the radiator. it cool far better than the 8045 will with the quiet fan, however if you're just going for noise go for it.
i do suggest maybe another couple fans intake and exhaust for your rig
Remember though that while you browsing the internet and doing normal stuff, you can rig the 120 to a rheostat and run it at 60% power.... almost silent, and it still cools your computer!
yai, my rig is absolutely warm(45° C) and the CPU temp is about 52° C under full load, but I don't trust that temp sensor on my mobo, cuz it crashes at about 54° and that's not normal. Maybe I'll buy a new case, cuz this case really sux0rs. http://www.compucase-hec.co.uk/6606.JPG
