I'm trying to hook up my All in Wonder 9800 Pro. My TV and the monitor have waves in it like it's some kind of interference. Maybe the cable isn't grounded correctly? Anyone have experience with this?

Hmmm, ever used a AIW card, but my 9800pro doesn't exhibit these symptoms of interference. But, my 9700pro did, and in order to alleviate the problem, I used the DVI output with the VGA adapter, and that got rid of the interference. I don't know how to help you out with the TV output though.

Sorry, I need to clear that up a bit. It's only when I hook the coax cable up to the AIW card. It's fine without the cable hooked up to it. The TV I was talking about is my regular TV. Not the TV output on the video card. I know the problem is with the Cable somewhere. Just can't figure out how to fix it so I can record shows on the computer.

Ahh, it's probably a crappy cable. I'd replace it with one that has more shielding. It could also be the cabling in your walls to the jack. Can you hookup a regular TV without any interference showing?

On the regular TV, I get lines that slowly go up the screen but it's not as bad as on the monitor when I have the coax hooked up to the AIW.

You could have a ground loop problem. Personally I had trouble with noise from my Audigy that persisted until I upgraded my PSU, and I think the problem was in part due to that. However, there are other methods to try to test if that´s the problem:

Ground loop problems

You can google for more articles on the subject.

Edit: Does your TV screen look like this?

Your monitor runs at a higher frequency refresh rate compared to the TV, so you would notice it more on the montior and AIW inputs.

If you can, I'd get your cable company to come in and fix the problem (if you're paying for it).

On the TV, yes. One the computer, no. I was thinking about calling the cable company out but we are buying a new home. We're moving in on the 24th. So, it probably won't be worth it to have them come out now. I just hope I don't have the same issue at the new place.
