What NXT are you using that evaporates in a month? Is it the old stuff or the new 2.0? I use the newer 2.0 and parking uncovered, outside, swear it lasts me 6 months minimum...

I'm pretty sure it's 2.0.

It's a black car, with clean paint and all that, garaged, and when driven it rarely sits in the sun.

Zaino is not all that hard to put on. I do it on five cars. You can do it in 3-4 hours over a weekend.

I've just been turned off by it... I saw my detailer mess with it, and keeping track of high/low spots and all that just isn't something I want to mess with. I know it fits my requirements, I just would rather use something else.

Any opinions on this:

I found an almost full bottle in my garage that I used to use for the motorcycles..

I think your detailer scared you a little too much. Zaino is applied just like a wax, there's absolutely nothing different about the process, except that you put it on a little bit thinner. (And worst case, if you put it on too thick, you'll just get a good arm workout wiping it off after it dries). For a product that fits your requirements perfectly, I think you might not be giving it a fair chance.

I have never found a wax that would last more than a month in urban surroundings.

Acid rains, lot of dust and fumes from other cars give your wax/paint job a hell good run for their money, so I simply need to spend more weekends waxing and polishing my cars.

Yeah, you guys are really swaying my opinion on it. I'm probably going to stick with nxt 2.0 this time around (I read last night that you need to let it dry 30 minutes before buffing off, I tend to only wait 5-10) and will then ISO remove everything and use zaino once the nxt wears off.

I loved how original NXT smelled like Gobstoppers

I'm giving Eagle's Nanowax a try this weekend.

I've been looking for anyone that does that, have any idea if anyone does it professionally in Fairbanks, Alaska?

I would do it myself, but I don't even have access to a water hose normally so the process can be quite difficult.
Try Autopia.

Dont let a random orbital scare you. I run a detailing shop and enjoying my Cyclos a lot. People assume you have to put tons of pressure into it when really all you need is the weight of the tool itself. With that in mind, it's super easy (even on small cars) to let the tool almost float over the surface.

I had to pretty much rebuild the insides of both Cyclos after the clown that used to run the place put them back together wrong. 6 months later, I have yet to chew up the center drive gear. FWIW, I use a synthetic paint sealant on my VW and can get it to keep beading for 5 months with just a hand wash and dry. Good luck!

I'd venture that if you're not a dumbass and have good dexterity, a rotary would be preferable to a dual-action unit just for the difference in speed - UNLESS you have a car with a lot of edges and corners.

*I do not take responsibility for polishing with a rotary without learning all of the ins and outs first*

Im pretty confident I'm not a dumbass and I still prefer a random orbital to a high speed rotary.

That's nice. Do you charge by the hour?

It is nice. Thanks. I charge by the job for and estimate out additional costs. Since the OP stated he has neither a high speed or a randomal orbital, recommending a high speed is basically clearcoat suicide. But hey, whatever turns your pads...
