Way too much rain this morning (PICS)

What a fucking nightmare. Thunderstorm this morning caused power to go out at work twice, putting everything at a stand-still for at least half an hour. It poured non-stop for over 4 hours. Must've gotten at least 10 inches of rain. All the roads are flooded. What is normally a 20 minute drive home from work took over an hour.

I had to wade through over a foot of water to get to my truck when I finished work:


^There is a ditch beyond the light pole/parking lot. The standing water must be at least 15 feet deep.

We've been getting thunderstorms every single day for the past 2 weeks practically.

What's funny is that a year ago at this time we were experiencing one of the worst droughts in history.

I'm ~150mi south of you and had about 1.5" of rain the past couple days. Non-stop severe storm warnings/watches and lots of thunder in the distance but the bad weather has stayed 10-15mi away so far this year.

hmm instead of a oil pipeline, maybe we should build a water pipeline to send excess water from the mid-west to the gulf. Lets see, the rivers can't handle it and they are pretty wide, so I say size the pipe at 300ft diameter. There would be too much water to store so you guys down south better be ready with buckets when the floods roll in.

I thought we had it bad, we got about 10 inches over 6 days in early June when our normal for the entire month is 1.5 inches. We didn't have any flooding like that though.

We've had two different days this year where we got over 5" of rain in a single storm. Last few days have been crazy. Although it wasn't as bad as earlier this year.

Last Friday we got hammered by wind and rain. Lost power for most of the night, some people for over a day. I lost a tree in my yard, a tree that I liked too. R.I.P. tree.
