The commercials I saw didn't look terribly interesting, looks really like someone at Fox went "hey people really like Twin Peaks and Lost let's make that into one TV show!" Kinda a dash of stuff like Haven, X-Files, and Stepford Wives (or maybe Village of the Damned or there's a couple of others with a kinda similar vibe, The Faculty from the late 90s).

Just saw the first 2 episodes...and I suppose I will watch 2 more before I have a good feeling on which way this show is headed.
This kinda reminds me of the dome, except, there isn't a dome, but there is a wall...

Oh wow it's Shyamalan. Haha, gee I wonder why they haven't been hyping that. It definitely shows though. Everything I've seen (haven't seen full episodes) just highlights why I think Lost and Shyamalan's stuff is so uninteresting compared to quirky (but in a less forced manner of it) stuff like Lynch and the X-Files.

Don't see the hate for M Night. Sure he's not the greatest director but he's had some great movies and he really knows how to create a plot twist. He's had a few misses recently but hopefully he can redeem himself and get on the right track.

I watched all three epi's and the show is just plain weird. It feels like its got no possible ending/revelation that will satisfy most people. I wonder if it will just not finish up the "story" this season and will end with a cliffhanger that explains nothing.

The only thing that is puzzling at the moment is the time gap. You have people that have only been there for a few weeks or years thinking and seemingly believing that they've been there for decades. I keep thinking that maybe there is some weird phenomenon there causing time dilation but even I have to admit that seems unlikely.

There's also the issue of 'what lies beyond the wall.' We got a very brief teaser at the end of the most recent show but I'm not sure I will be impressed when they reveal more. Right now I'm thinking human experiments gone wrong but maybe, just maybe, aliens. For example maybe this like a gerbil gym that was set up to appease aliens in return for their not invading the earth.

I would really like to see a scifi element to the story but I keep thinking that this is just going to be another LOST that throws out countless potential plot elements but never actually ties anything together. Then like with the x-files finale they make some half-assed effort to tie everything together that fails so miserably you want to flagellate yourself for ever having watched the show.

When Dillon tells the sheriff he is looking for Kate Hewson he says she is 27 years old. Yet, Carla Gugino who later claims to have been in Wayward Pines for 12 years clearly looks to be much older than 27 and in fact about 39 would seem to be right, especially as the actress is actually like 43. When Dillon sees Kate he must notice she is no where near 27 years old anymore.

I thought they both acknowledged that she was much older than she should be. She was surprised when he said she was only missing for 5 weeks (or months). Other people (Juliette Lewis's character) experienced the same kind of phenomoma. Its seems like they are definitely out of time, and the fence is for their protection. Just don't get why it would be against the rules to discuss their past or be honest about what the situation is.
