Waze is not better

I use waze during my daily commute to avoid the delays caused by accidents, road closures, etc ... seems like most days it doesn't really make a difference, but sometimes it gives me a weird route to avoid a problem.

Also, when it says there is a car to the side or whatever, it's accurate almost 100% of the time for me.

Ultimately it depends on your area. In LA it works great as there plenty of users. Of course, I'm also guilty of not helping since I don't turn it on for my morning commute. I'm so early there is no traffic

I find Waze's city navigation to be terrible, more than once it told me to go the wrong way on one way roads (and this is in DC, not some unknown city).

Waze is best at only one thing: cop spotting. For everything else I would pick Google Maps.

When I used Waze, I was constantly getting notices for slow traffic and cars on the side of the road that didn't exist. Didn't seem useful, so I didn't bother after a while

I read a new story a while back that people living on side streets were reporting false slow downs so Wazers wouldn't cut/speed through their streets. This was more about heavy residential areas, not highways.

I wasn't keen on the fact that Waze would continue broadcasting your location info unless you shut it off in the app, so I never use it - mainly Google though I dislike the way it handles the "found a shorter route" notification as you're driving. I'd rather it be auto decline vs auto accept, maybe there is a way to change it that I haven't found.

Yes, but it's easy to pick out the false reports and ignore them...which Waze does
