Will it actually perform much better? 7% extra cores and similar power consumption is not going to massively change anything, its a pretty small change. Its interesting to see both companies are now getting better yields as 28nm matures, its certainly bringing us faster cards but the this is just the refreshes and the real change (50%+) performance I am still expecting next year with the new process which I hope is still viable considering the demands on TSMC wafer starts with mobile phone chips.
Depressingly a pair of more moderate cards will easily outperform it for about 2/3rds the price so not a whole lot of point getting any of the new cards despite the fact they are clearly better and less limited.
