TSMC 20nm volume production in Q2 2014, though there is no significant 20nm volume till Q3 2014.
TSMC Volume Production: (9 month delay from Risk to Volume)
Fab 12 -> Q4 2013
Fab 14 -> Q1 2014
Fab 15 -> Q2 2014

GlobalFoundries Volume Production: (18 month delay from Risk to Volume)
Fab 1 -> Q3 2013
Fab 8 -> Q1 2014

Here you guys go:

28nm -> 20nm
Malta -> Hawaii
Tahiti -> Maui
Pitcarn -> Iceland
Bonaire -> Tonga

4096/256/64/768 -> 7680/480/128/1024
2048/128/32/384 -> 3840/240/64/512
1280/80/32/256 -> 2816/176/48/384
896/56/16/128 -> 1536/96/32/256

You are so painfully and hopelessly wrong than I don't even know where to begin. Hawaii is single GPU, not gemini board, pitcairn is not replaced by Iceland, bonaire will not be replaced (XTX and PRO models still to come). My god you are so full of BS :|

FWIW-TSMC Update 8-6-13 for those who haven't seen this yet.
TSMC Slightly Reschedules Volume Production to early 2014 on 20nm

“On 20nm [process technology], we see little competition. The risk production has started in the first quarter [2013] and the volume production will start in early 2014 next year […] the equipment [is] already being installed, the equipment [is] streaming in and [is] being installed. […] The volume production will start in early 2014,” said Morris Chang, the head of TSMC.

These guys seem to have the thing. Hope some leaks are coming.

The guy post this in the same topic.

But I still think is hard to believe in that 3dmark score. When compared to 7970ghz gpu score (5152 X 3602) this card is 43% faster than 7970ghz with cat 13.6 beta 2 by legitreview test.

If the bench is true, it has to be 20nm. That kind of performance delta would mean a massive 500mm2 die on 28nm and I just dont see AMD having the balls to go that large. While a small 350mm2 die on 20nm could easily attain that performance.

That seems like a crap perf increase for 20nm, even less than the one from 6970->7970, AMD probably having bad drivers again?

The drivers were so terrible they outperformed nvidia at every price point. I wonder how well AMD would have done if they got those god awful drivers in order LOL.

This doesn't look like a high quality cover for BF4, but like someone printed it on their home printer, doesn't it? Is that a jewel case?

Why? Vs. the normal 7970, it would be ~60% at the same or even lower power consumption. Perfectly reasonable. Don't forget the reference design 7970 GHz is overclocked and uses lots more power than the normal 7970. It might get its own successor later on.

Crysis 1+2+3 looks outdated compared to ARMA3...and that game will drop that hurt on anyone thinking he can run the game at max settings.

Let the outdated Crysis meme die.

I would say that the art style is different. Crysis 1 (with mods) and Crysis 3 look amazing, almost cinematic (Crysis 2 looked terrible).

ARMA 3 looks realistic more than cinematic, and although there might not be as many special effects, the sheer scale of it is insane. I would say I definitely like ARMA 3's night lighting system more, but in terms of polygons in one object, Crysis might win.

If ARMA made their foliage look a bit better and their mid-range view distance objects/terrain higher quality, it would be incomparable.

Dumb question: does doubling all the hardware components (SPs, TMUs, ROPs, Bus width etc.) while keeping the same clock-speed (for both core and memory) result in a greater than double TDP?

If not, then 2x Bonnaire and 3x Bonnaire @ 1 GHz Core, 6 GHz VRAM speeds should result in no more than 170W and 265W TDPs for presumed mid-high and high-end/enthusiast class cards (1792/112/32/256 bit, 2688/168/48/384 bit), which should be competitive with the 760 and 780 if priced right.

Further sacrificing Power for higher core (1.1-1.2 GHz) and VRAM (7 GHz) clock speeds (190 W, 280 W) should then net a decent performance boost where such hypothetical cards would/should compete with 770/Titan on performance.

Or AMD could choose to put more transistors (3072/192/64/512 bit massive die, <1GHz and <7GHz core and memory speeds) in a bid to match both performance and TDP. In which case we may possibly see even Tahiti refreshed for lower TDP, higher clocks (1.1 GHz core, 7 GHz VRAM, 2048/128/32-48/384 bit) for high-end (greater than 770) performance. This is of course all hypothetical talk just for the sake of discussion.

However, if my premise is not false, logically, 2x and 3x Bonnaire would make a lot of sense. Consider a 7950 like GPU with a core speed of 1100-1200 MHz, VRAM @ 7 GHz but on 256-bit bus, should be great for 1080p (if priced around 250$). Should beat 760 quite well and give 770 a run for the money.

A 2688 shader part with 48 ROPs and 168 TMUs @ 1 GHz should have ~ 31-32% more shading and texturing throughput than the 7970 GE, and 50% more ROP throughput. From what I have read, Tahiti was ROP limited so this should on average net about a 35% increase over the 7970 GE, putting it close to Titan.

Adding in hardware frame metering for CF and dedicating some transistors for better Boost would also be nice supplementary features.

Again the assumption here is that increase in hardware constituents lead to no more than proportional increase in TDP at same clock speeds.

30nm GPU confirmed!!!!1

Half-Life 3 confirmed!

To be serious - that Chip Hell image did not necessarily induce much confidence in the source. The cover looks a bit like a Russian pirated version of a PC game in the late 90'ies.

If the 9970 sightly outperforms Titan at 20nm, then VI will be a great fail, unless they have better perf/watt(or/and perf/mm²) than Maxwell and have Crossfire totally fixed and scaling better this time.
