Apparently AMD is unable to speak anymore.
This is still circumstantial evidence, I'm not seeing anything more than opinion that this upscaling fsr exclusivity is part of a contract. This could be what Tim/HUB/etc allege, it could just be CYA from AMD marketing to avoid losing their jobs if they say no, yes, maybe and turn out to be wrong.
The most interesting part to me is the idea that it is easy to implement other upscalers once they have done the work for one. Is this true? Does it depend on the engine? Does it depend on the version of engine being used in a game? Does it just depend on a game developer having the time, money, or expertise to implement it properly?
We have some people in the game developer world claiming it is easy, especially for AAA studios, others saying it is just budget/time or not so easy to do. The wccftech (who started this whole debate) article I posted a few days ago with the Riftbreaker devs from two years ago said it was easier to do FSR and it would benefit most of their customers so they went with that. They just recently added xess too.
Bah, why waste time with this at this point. I guess it is the only thing gpu wise to talk about since the 4060 is just another clown show. Like the whole GPU market these days.
