Not yet, but mine says it should ship on or before April 10. Today is April 9th so I would assume it will ship tomorrow.

Mine says it would ship before or on April 10th as well.... but last time i ordered the Logitech Z-560's for $115 (THATS RIGHT $115!!!) it shipped in like 5 days, and that when it said i would recieve it around Feb. 23 or something... i got it around January 12th or something. I just thought that Dell ships faster to California residents and all... it also says my order status is PENDING... wtf.... i hope that means they are PENDING to put it in a UPS truck.

ATTENTION People with Western Digital 120GB (1200JB) Special Edition Hard Drives (8MB Buffer): How loud is your drive?

As the title states, people that own or have used the Western Digital 120GB special edition Hard Drive (8MB buffer), how loud is your drive? I am asking because I recently acquired two 120GB hard drives (brand new) and they seem to be emitting strange noises.

During the initial bootup, you hear them spinning up loudly (louder than say a 40GB 7200rpm drive, close to a 10k SCSI drive sound) and then afterwards there's lots of seeking noises (random loud seek noises that sound like something clattering inside the drives).

Does anyone experience the same thing? Is this normal for this drive to make those noises? Since it's about as loud as a SCSI 10k rpm drive (1st generation).

If not, do you think it's just a phyiscal error with BOTH of my drives, since both make the same noise? Let me know if I should RMA it.

EDIT: Apparently, my drives are bad (both of them ) so I'm RMA'ing it now.

I was hoping to get my drive as soon as possible so i could take advantage of my UC connection speed.... but now i will only have 1 month to fill 120 gigs!!! I got in on the oem version of this for 188. Its a pretty sweet drive. had a few glitches with it though, for instance when I had my dvd hooked to it as the slave it would case some troule and even one time during boot up it said hard disk error and halted. also, right when the computer is turned on and the drive starts to spin up, I hear a little jitter noise that lasts for about a 1/4 a second. Nothing big, kinda wierd though.

Speeds are pretty good. Copied around 700mg in under 15 seconds (from and to same disk)
