Depending on where you are tax may be important. Im in Texas so add tax from Frys -- but no tax from Newegg.

For some odd reason the one I got from Newegg last month is starting to crap out on me. I've attemped multiple times of reformatting and now have it hooked up to a Silicon Image SATA150 Controller doing low-level formats.

I've been getting "write delay failed" errors when I try to format the volume, and the system becomes incredibly slow and unstable. It all began when I tried to copy files onto the hardware...anybody knows how to resolve this?

I hope it's all a software issue. I have trouble believing that my spankin' new HDD is already dying on me and need to be sent back for a refurbed model.

Don't use FAT32 or you'll regret it. NTFS is far superior! ...not to mention FAT32 can't handle large files like DVD's.
