Alright then, been looking for a good harddrive deal for a while now, damn music starting to pile up. Today I thought what the hell, I'll give it a shot, started calling through all the OD stores in Georgia. Got a "Yes, have 3 in stock" at around #7. But a physical check resulted in "Sorry, don't have it". So they probably snatched it right then or didn't have it in the first place. At around store #13, got a "Yes, indeed, we have 2, and they're right here. Somebody else called before and we couldn't find them, but they're here now". I was "Woohoo, put them both on hold.". Store was 40 miles away on Conyers, GA, got there from Marietta right before closing time. She had the two drives nice and tight under the counter with my name on it. Here's what I did:
1. Printed out two copies of the $15 off $50 OD coupon. (Exp 02/24/01)
2. Had my friend driving me purchase one, and me the other one.
3. Applied one copy of the coupon to each drive.
4. Picked up some OD ball pens (which I need for school anyhow, since I lose all mine) to make it over $50 from $49.88, and to remind of this for a while.
5. Purchased both drives that way for about $37, for a total of about $75.
The young lady behind the counter had no objections of any kind to my preplanned procedure, so I thank the sweetheart wholeheartedly for letting me have this deal.
60 GB for $75. Guess if I'm happy.
