Drop the sku number in the search box on the Staples page and it will turn up fine. I don't know of any reason why you couldn't use a coupon unless the coupon prohibits it (rare for Staples).

I already have one of these- a great deal at a substantially higher price six months ago-and have no complaints about it. It's quiet and a solid performer.

These come with A/C adapters. I am not sure if they will work without it. Unlike the WD800U017, an 80GB WD HD (Passport) that works without A/C power. Max capacity on these is 160GB.

Why would a drive with a high failure rate be a good archival drive? If you don't mind losing what you archive then maybe.

well if he keeps double copies its not likely he'll have his primary drive fail at the same time as the archival drive.

does this thing have any power saving features? saves on wear too if you leave it plugged in.... some usb drives never spin down
