Thanks for the tip DulySeeFit! I checked circuitcity.com and they were indeed already priced $149 and showing as in-stock at two local CCs. I called the first and they were out of stock (contrary to what cc.com showed), so I called the second. The second store had ONE in stock.
I had bought two WD's at CompUSA, so I thought this might be a problem--i.e. trying to pricematch two when CC only had one in stock. I rushed to CompUSA to give it a try anyway...the CompUSA CSR called CC and verified the price...and when he asked if they had any in-stock, apparently CC didn't tell him they only had one, or either the CSR just ignored this.
Anyway, after he verified it with CC, then he started to argue that their's was cheaper because of the $60 rebate and he couldn't give me the PM. (I expected this argument to come before he actually called and verified! ) After a good 15-20 minutes of arguing that the rebate shouldn't/doesn't count in CompUSA's pricematch policy, he finally said he'd just have to go talk to his manager. He came back about five minutes later and said okay...
So I got the pricematch for $149 on both drives! $149 - $60 - $30 = $60 which is certainly not bad! It's not $40 as some got, but I couldn't find a local BB with them in stock and CompUSA wouldn't PM against Mysterie's posted receipts. If any of you bought the drives and haven't PMed yet, I hurry back to CompUSA before your local CC sales out!
