Yep, I get the same thing. "OfficeMax February 2004 Cash Offers" shows a $20 rebate for the Western Digital 80GB Hard Drive. However, the Manufacturer's rebate comes up as $30. I'm worried but I guess I'll just wait till the rebate arrives and deal with it then.

Got in on the deal via rain check so I was given the single $60 rebate form - just got my OM notice that the rebate is valid and is being processed . . .

This is all very strange. If you read that book I wrote above )), you would know I had issues with the OM $30 rebate. Well, get this, I woke up today, checked my mail, and it is a e-mail from OM about my rebate. They issued a tracking #. I was like HUH? So I clicked on the supplied link, and it says $30 valid. Submit date was 3-11-04.

Makes me think that someone from parago is lurking around. lol

Wonder how long it will take to get the check now? For WD rebate, it went from 'processing' to 'final stage' to 'sent'.

Well I had a raincheck for 2 of the western digital hard drives and a receive tracking info saying both rebates are valid for the $60. Only problem know is that they are tryin to screw me on the Pacific Digital drive I bought saying I sent the wrong UPC# hopefully the other UPC# on the box was it cause that's the one I sent.

Ended up getting this with a understanding that my rain check will be valid for the rebate. Email arrived to confirm my eligibility today. I clicked the link and...

"Status Detail: We apologize for the misunderstanding, but your rebate is invalid because the product was not purchased within the dates specified by this promotion. A postcard acknowledging your invalid reason will be mailed to you."

I guess when I get the post card I should take my copies to my local OM. I'll probably get an in-store credit that I don't want.

Anyone else with this same issue?

I also submitted the $60 raincheck rebate but no info of the status yet! Did OM email you out the tracking info or way this my US Mail?

I would take it to your OM Manager.. I haven't had this problem, but I was concerned about another rebate and when I asked my local OM Store manager, he said "If you every have a problem with any rebate or get a denied postcard, bring it up here to me and I call it in and get it verified"

I'd get the store manager to call Parago, just be real nice to him/her. Giving you store credit could constitute false advertising.

I had the raincheck & the $60 rebate. I received an e mail with the tracking #. At first it didn't say valid, but the next day it was valid. Now just waiting for the check.

The other was invalidated even though all information for both OM's and WD's rebate was sent in the same envelope to OM.

The website shows one rebate approved and one rejected.
I've called them twice to validate the rebate.
They've appologized and done so on two occaisions.
The website still shows it rejected.
Note that the website doesn't accept the rejected tracking number at all. I can only get to it by clicking on the link in the rejection email they sent to me.

Everytime I speak with someone, they tell me they can't give me a transaction number or send me a confirmation email. They just tell me to wait for a postcard check.

I had a similar experience with my khypermedia cdrw drive. It resulted from the data input person apparently reading the wrong number on the OM multi-item form. As a result the bar code reader that they must be using rejected it as the wrong upc for the item checked. They straightened it out but I had to first call OM, read them the UPC from a photo copy and they told me it was for the right item. I forwarded this fact to the processors (I think along with a fax of all materials) and it was resolved. Actually, I haven't received that one yet. :frown:

I'll never purchase another Western Digital Hard drive!! My hard drive started rattling right after I purchased it. I ran their diagnostic program and according to the results the drive is fine. The rattling is driving me crazy. I read alot of reviews about this drive and I would never have purchased it if it werent for the rebates. Now I wished I would have spend the extra money and bought a different brand.

send it back for an RMA.

I've never had any problems with these WD 8mb cache drives.

When I had an issue with an OfficeMax rebate where OM stated that the rebate form was printed with the incorrect dates, the OM manager assured me that if I had an issue, I could go back to the store to resolve the rebate problem. OM's register printed a rebate receipt for the item, which *kinda* proves that it should be valid for a rebate.

Well, I did have an issue with that rebate. It was only a $5 rebate for a networking card. The rebate center rejected the rebate and so I brought it back to OM and they issued me $5 in cash. This was for a small rebate, so they just gave me the cash. I'm not sure if your OM will give you $30 for your rebate woes, but they should at least help you with resolving it.

BTW: They took my postcard so I could not pursue a resolution with the rebate center, although I'm not sure that that would hinder the resolution if I had pursued it.

You should get an emplyoee #. Also I had to call in to validate one of my $30 rebates cause they gave me the wrong form to fill out. The female customer service rep told me I would be able to log into maxmyrebates.com and check it out the validation which I did immediately after.

Sent in for the $50 rebate that printed from the register, the $60 raincheck rebate, and the $30 manufacturer's rebate. As of This morning, all three have been approved. So I make $65.11 after tax and stamps.
