Thanks for reminding me about the price match. That makes it easier to find the WD Black version. When you get to the store check underneath where it was made. Ones from Thailand contain the Green drive, Malaysia has the Black (7200) drive. There's nothing wrong with the Green drive, it's arguably more reliable as an external storage device since it generates less heat and spins slower. The Black drive is great if you want to use the HDD in a desktop.
However with the price match, that opens up the hunt to Staples, Office Depot and Best Buy. I'm off hunting.
I also agree with USB 2.0 being too slow for writing multi GB of info.. I've found that reading from USB 2.0 is great at 35MB/s but when writing more than about 4-8GB of stuff it starts at 35MB then consistently slows down to less than half! It'll take you about a day and a half to fill up 2 TB. It seems as if Win7 buffers to RAM and after it fills never buffers again. Strange. I haven't tested this with WinXP. I ended up going copying in chunks of 4GB-8GB instead.
