Nope.

Expect another one to two months before they work through the disty channels.

Damn, can't wait for them to come.... 36GB, 10,000RPM, 8MB Cache, SATA, 5 Year Warranty, 1.2 Million MTBF............. am I the only one who thinks these will be awesome? Not to mention that A7N8X has SATA built in, so you can run Raid 0 off two of these puppies right away, almost cheaper than buying regular IDE drives. I hear the 36GB drives will default at around $150 or $160. Not bad at all (72GB is enough for me!).

Well, not that it's reeeeealllllllly your business, but if you must know, i'm putting together an A7N8X system. I just havent updated my sig yet (dont really want to until its all put together). Even if I wasn't though, doesn't mean I can't get excited about the WD raptors... ............ right now though, the only thing missing from my system will be the HD. Im gonna have to use an old 40GB until these raptor babies come!

Thanks. It will be interesting to see what the reviews are like when they are released. Noise will be interesting. I want whispah quiet hard drives. At 10k rpm, they shouldn't be too loud.

Checking WD's site, it seems to show the new Raptor will emit around the same amount of noise as the current generation JB drives. I must say that 10K RPM SCSI drives have gotten significantly quieter over the years so hopefully they improved that for SATA.
