Has anyone used one of these long term? I know it's not the fastest drive, but newegg is going to be selling the 256GB version for only $200 later today (10-1PM PST) making it the 1st 256GB drive I've seen at a non bank braking price. I'm tired of playing capacity chicken with my current 128GB Agility 1; but if it's flaky I'll likely give it a pass anyway.

This is already available on the Canadian website... Seriously considering the purchase. Would this thing be any slower than the Kingston V100 I'm currently using to store my games?

EDIT: Ordered it... for $199 + free shipping, I couldn't pass it up. Seems it's based on the same controller as the V100 and has very similar performance according to the AT test bench.

Jmicron JMF612 (same as JMF618 but with different NAND) with Trim support.

Basically same performance as the Kingston drives which have been hitting hot deals lately with the possible exception of the V+100.

A hair below Indilinx Barefoot based drives in measurable performance.

A LOT below latest/greatest SATA 6G Marvell/Sandforce2 based drives in measurable performance.

A LOT above any spindle drive in performance.

I'd hit it. This is cheap enough to be a games drive.

I read the review @ an hour ago but I got a little confused when it came to the controller. I may not have been on my second cup of tea.

Speeds kinda remind me of the generation '1.5' SSDs.

I purchased one of those little Kingston drives for a physical SSD OS back-up.

This one is tempting but I don't wanna turn into an SSD junkie/hoarder.

almost a year now.

i don't use her laptop but she did mention it wasn't as fast as it was when we first installed it.
maybe she got spoiled by the SSD in my desktop since she uses it occasionally.
but it's loads faster than any HDD. it was snappier than my C2Q/WD caviar black desktop before i upgraded the boot drive to SSD.

That didn't take long but sometimes they find "extra" stock.

Keep checking if anyone really wants the drive but i'll bet they're gone.

Was waiting for them to show up on the US site...

Hopefully this'll be one of the shell shockers that shows up again a few days later for almost as good a price. If not, oh well.
