As it has already been asked with no answer It will be asked again.

Spidey are you even part of that group?

There is definitely a belief that you are misrepresenting yourself here.

They aren't against billionaires, you idiot. They are against the corrupt and parasitic relationship big banks have with the government and the rest of society.

Apple has been rather acidic on society as well. Convincing people they "need" over priced crap to be special. It's ok though because Apple employs oh so many America... I mean Chinese. lol.

It's funny that people on that page probably think they are special and unique snowflakes because they had a rough spot in life and managed to crawl out of it. Many of them took advantage of taxpayer programs, then somehow complain when others when others do the same. They hypocrites and liars. No wonder spidey claims to be one of them.

They worked to get off it, to me it seems they're wondering why others can't? Why have they been on the unemployment doll for 2+ years? etc etc

I'm just happy I'm in the 1% of runners so I don't look like them. Money means nothing compared to health.

After looking at a few of those photos I'm comforted in knowing that it is always nice to put a face to the name Fucking Retard.

Congrats Spidey you were ostracized from the "We The People" crowd and now a bunch of other douche-bags, the "We are the 53%" keep you at arms length, too.

It looks like a bunch of people who live miserable lives and are proud of it. "Hey I live a horrible, unfulfilling life doing mundane, repetitive tasks, so you should have to also!" To work so hard and receive so little kind of illustrates how much things are screwed up. Weren't we sold on the fact that if you're willing to work hard, you will have a good chance to live a prosperous life?

Progressive taxation schemes vs. Regressive taxation schemes are starting to become a big point of contention between the parties, and may be a big issue in the campaign.

It seems that the right is advocating for a more regressive scheme, which I and many other fear would be disastrous.

Not only do the right advocate a more regressive tax system, but the spending cuts they advocate are taken almost entirely from programs that primarily benefit the middle class and poor. So what the right advocates is doubly regressive: More taxes from the non-rich and less benefits to the non-rich.

Yet they've got the moron tea partyers fighting for the wealthy.

Really, you can't make this stuff up.

This one looks Photochopped.

Just look at the pixelation around the "print" on the paper.

Looks like the guy is working in a trailer - dig those "office" accountrements. Used car salesman?

Yeah, he may actually be in Spidey's intellectual echelon.

It's because the whole economy is a lot like a giant corporation- a giant labor monopsony. And it's been downsized to achieve bigger profits & executive bonuses.

Very high productivity & efficiency. Ain't it Grand?

incremental-ism to what goal?

Maybe just as simple as not using taxpayer dollars to pay someone for tanking the economy?

The protesters are against capitalism. Off course they want the opposite of what they have today. Why else would they be protesting?

People claiming otherwise are in denial.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. Just because you're unhappy with what's happening on wall street doesn't mean you're anti capitalism. Capitalism isn't one narrowly defined thing, and can have numerous different flavours.

Labeling the other side 'extreme' or 'stupid sheep working for the man'. Isn't helping your case

If you're talking about what I said, then you need to learn to read better. I didn't even say whether or not I agree with these people.

All I said is that the partisans on this board can only see things in the extreme. Like, I dunno, saying that because a group of people are unhappy with how the economy currently functions that means they must be anti capitalism.

He works for CVS. Over his shoulder you can see a "CVS Memo"

45 hours makes him a store manager or assistant manager.

I like the people who say they work multiple jobs without a full explanation. Because three jobs of eight hours each just wouldn't sound as good. :hmm:

If you look at the demands of the core occupy people then you will see that they are certainly anti-capitalist.

At the core are a group of people who want the rewards of living in a free capitalist society, but don't want the risks.

They fail to understand that capitalism provides the most wealth for everyone compared to any other system, but as a by product some people will be richer than others. But at the same time the poor in a capitalist society are better off than the poor in any other economic system.

I worked two 'full time' jobs while in school.

One was mornings 6-1 and the other nights 3-11 and I went to school in between or at night on days off.

They were both 32 hour a week jobs, but they were considered 'full time'

How telling is it that people like you look down on this guy for having a job that you feel is beneath you, meanwhile you glorify and exalt the people occupying wall street with no jobs at all who would rather bitch and moan than work?

Question: I wonder how many of that 53%, especially those near the income levels of the "Other" 47%, would be willing to take a tax hike (because they would) just to get something out of the other 47%?

(Hint: They would be crying like a baby).

You assumption is that the federal government needs to raise taxes.
What the federal government needs to do is lower taxes across the board and return authority to the states.

and what would that do to make the bottom 47% pay "Federal" tax?

I didn't say anything about "raising taxes". Removing deductions would have the effect of getting those at the bottom to pay something without touching tax rates at all.

Edit: Instead of "Bottom", maybe I should say "mid point" since that is what it is.

Finally took a look at the blog... You have people working 60 hours a week, being paid for only 45 hours, and feeling good about being screwed over, you have people that took 20 years to move to a better paying job and being proud of it, you have several people who were dumb enough to buy house at the top of the housing bubble and then loudly proclaiming their stupidity to the whole internet, you have people without health insurance essentially one emergency away from becoming a "public burden", you have people working for the government bitching about the government... This is both hilarious and sad at the same time. I have no idea how this blog is supposed to further the teaparty/53% movement...
