I'm still trying to figure out how Muslims in the UK have anything to do with EU membership. They're mostly descendants & relatives of Pakistanis & other south asians who migrated to the UK long before the EU even existed.

Don't be bringing the British Empire into this conversation about the UK. Don't you know that they aren't the same thing anymore and that the people who were free to move about the Empire as citizens of the Empire now should go back to where they came from because the Empire no longer exists?
Seems pretty clear to me that they want control over their immigration policy, most likely to reduce it.
From what I know of British Immigration law people from all over the Empire were free to move to the UK regardless of what country they were from. Most immigrants in the UK today usually come from countries that are part of the Commonwealth or former Commonwealth countries, so not much has changed since the end of the British Empire.
UK Muslims won't be going away regardless of Brexit. Meanwhile, Brexiteers are likely to take it further up the ass from Tory austerity should it actually occur. It's the UK version of Freedumb.
You would think that someone who says that they are from the UK would know that there are people from around the world that reside in the UK today that come from countries that were part of the British Empire at the time of their immigration or are from countries that are part of the successor to the Empire, the British Commonwealth. If he doesn't want people from all over the world moving to the UK he might want to take it up with the Queen and get the House of Commons to change their laws regarding former Empire states and current and former Commonwealth states.
What I find the funniest about Brexit is that the country that invented the concept of "Free Trade" and spread it around the world is unhappy with the results of what they have done.

I hope the British people feel the pain of a no-deal Brexit as soon as it happens because then they would be getting exactly what a majority of them wanted. Everyday items not produced in the UK will end up being more expensive to buy because of import tariffs. That is until the British government is able to work out free trade deals of their own that they are currently part of by just being in the EU.
It still amazes me that there are people in the UK that actually believe that agreements made between other countries and the EU will still be in effect after they leave the EU.
