It's not much, but I've switched a few machines (two Celeron 700, a Celeron 466, and a K6-3+ 600) over from SETI to the Seti Cavalry team for a while to try and help out... The Celeron machines will only be able to crack about 5 hours per day, but I give what I can.

(It sure is depressing to see that Cel466 with 32MB Ram put out ~1.2 Mkeys/s and have my K6-3+ w/128MB only do ~1.02... :disgust

I was going to start a seperate thread, but this is just as good a place to make my post...

During this week, I'll be cracking SETI work units for my boss to repay a favor in which he helped me reach my goal of 7,000 by year's end.

During the ENTIRE MONTH OF JANUARY, I will be cracking RC5 blocks for The Federation; I'm not exactly sure what that will add up to, but I think it'll be somewhere in the 25 to 30 Mkeys range - not the fastest to be sure, but it will fulfill a promise I made earlier this year to our RC5 teammates.

So, for all you SETI people within about 2,000 WUs of me: Here's your chance to either catch up to, or even pass me! But come February, I'll be back with a vengance!

It's about time people woke up and realized it, before it's too late.
It'll be easier to stay ahead of them, then it will be to try and catch back up later.

But remember, the closer they get, the more they'll be over here in the DC forums tiring to raise hell, and get us inter-team fighting and all riled up.

The way it is now, we have less then 5% of the TeAm doing 90% of the work.
Everybody needs to get off their butt and assimilate machines, friends and relatives.

Hey -- I am new to this deal, but i got a little setup here going that appears to be generating 3Mkeys/sec on each of 7 machines. I had it running on another box that is bigger, but was only getting 6Kkey/sec. what should i be expecting??? Is there a document which estimates output on various platforms??

And Yes, it's time to get off your butts and do something about it, besides kissing their ass every time they show up over here.

It should go to show ya how much they (DPC) are over here lurking, watching TA's every move.

OK, im sick of seeing TA members jump on TA members about bad mouthing the DPC.

First, if its over here, it wasnt meant to be read by DPC members, if it was it would be posted on GOT, so if your a DPC and we have anything to say to you, we will say it there.

And why is it anytime the word DPC is mentioned minutes later 4 or 5 of them make smart ass comments in our forums? It seems like they read our forums more than we do! I dont like this feeling of knowing they are constantly lurking over here. So if you DPC really need to be trolling our forums all day (I know, we are more interesting than you) but please, just refrain from posting unless you plan on joining the team.

Sorry if anyone here disagrees with me, but its just my opinion on this whole matter.

Like Networkman I'm actually crunching SETI@Home on the machines I can easily manage. The other machines are already crunching RC5.
To help RC5 team I'll switch from SETI to RC5 during january. I'll bring : 2 PIII 550, 1 P166MMX, 1 P200MMX : 24/7
and 1 C450 and a duron 800 : 18/7
