Anyways, it was shortly ruled out as ET in origin when humans looked at it. The SETI thing was just a kick out from a computer. Once people looked at it, it was nothing.

I can tell you that my MIL thinks we saw demons that night and that we are all just a bunch of demon infested sinners.

But my ex brother in law, who is a more mainstream kind of Christian, knows that what we saw was part of God's creation and wasn't inherently evil.

There are sects who think aliens are all demons and that some of us are alien/demon seed. Heh!

Depends on your POV I guess. I have no desire to turn this into a religion thread, I'll let others argue for the exclusivity factor of their flavor of religion if they wish. I'm not about that or thinking that a pious person with different beliefs than me is destined for hell, be they Christian, Hindu, Muslim, Buddhist, or anything else including whatever belief system they practice on planet Zurqod where the alien signal is coming from (notice per 1950s science fiction convention, every alien planet name must begin with a Z or Q)

That is the scariest thing I've heard all week. And I'm talking about the people's mindframes. Let's make sure they don't make first contact with the aliens.

I saw a documentary where they tried to explain abductions. They had reports in teh middle ages of demons doing the same things aliens do now (immobiilzing them, etc). It turns out a certain chemical can stimulate people to feel awake and that a malign presence is imprisoning them, harming them. After that good explanation I stopped believing the abduction stories.

What was the encounter like?

Well, my oldest sister was with her fiance about 2 miles from home. They were on a country road, trying to make curfew. Something with lights and diamond-shaped came silently out of the sky in front of them. According to both of them, it wasn't of this world and pretty much scared the sheet out of them. It started chasing them, and her fiance (who then became my brother in law, and is now my ex brother in law, but is still family to me) decided to drive as fast as he could to our house.

Well, right about the time this was happening to them, me and my other sister were upstairs in our bedroom, trying to go to sleep. All of a sudden, a light as bright as the sun filled our room. It was NOT natural. There was NO noise, NO movement, just unnatural, incredibly bright light. We instinctively did not move. I said, "What's that??" and she said, "I don't know" and then we heard the sound of tires squealing, doors slamming, and my other sister and her fiance slamming the door into the house. We stayed in our beds.

The next day, we found out that at the same time the strange light filled our room, our sister was being chased by a UFO. It was no prank. To this day, it is one of those things that we can just connect to each other with... even my ex brother in law knows that what happened that night was beyond this world, and he's like a born again Christian.

Even if people don't believe us, it doesn't matter, because it happened to us as a group, in very different contexts, so we know it wasn't our imagination.

My Dad told me a story years ago he was on a new jersey beach and he saw an object on the Horizon and within seconds it was over the beach, him being a pilot knew there was no way an object could travel that fast. He told me it started to get bigger and bigger then he realized it was coming down. It was bright white and disk shaped, it came within 20 feet of landing on the beach then it shot off into space. The next day the local newspaper reported that they received over 10,000 calls about this exact object my Dad told me about. It happened in the mid 60?s. If you knew my Dad you would know this in 100% true so you will just have to take my word for it.

Hey Sternfan! I believe you and your dad. People don't make stuff up like that. Sure, there are drunk people and there are natural occurances, but people KNOW when something isn't quite right (and they ARE in their right minds!).

I just accept it and hope that at some point, our planet's inhabitants stop being so narrowminded and short sighted.

Also, there are plenty of websites that harbor the nuts who think that alien seeds are the devil. It goes back to the Bible talking about giants mating with daughters of Eve or something. According to them, whole races have been contaminated. It is scary as hell, but that's what these people believe.

I didn?t mean to troll on your thread. I?m upset over what happened and I needed to vent. Because this topic is seems important to you, I will make amends by contributing my story.

One day, not night, I was walking down the street and in the distance something didn?t seem quite right. I stopped and said to myself, ?what is wrong with this picture?? I couldn?t see the highway overpass or the extension of the road turning the corner. It was as though nothing existed beyond a certain point. As Isla stated ?There was NO noise, NO movement, just unnatural, incredibly bright light.? I waited for a car to turn the corner and travel toward my direction. I needed confirmation that what I was seeing wasn't real. Then I saw red lights, similar to brake lights. Well that was good enough for me, thinking someone is backing their car out of their driveway. When I continued my walk towards my house these red lights started rising. Slowly they went so high into the air that I could see the corner of the road, then the overpass and everything else that was familiar. The next day the newspapers reported the sighting by at least 1,000 people. A month or so later, government officials tested the site. Because I was young when I experience this, today I?m still wondering if it was my imagination.
