I got the display model w/ no manual. I didn't think it would be rocket science to operate, but, I can't figure out how to:

1) Set the clock (no biggie actually)

2) Change the radio stations (including the preset for the Weather NOAA station). Argh... I thought I was getting close, holding down preset button changes the status but I can't figure which button changes the station.

3) How to turn off the friggen beeps? With them on, Playing around trying to figure it out is getting very annoying. I would have thought that the beep disable would be the button on the top with a picture of a bell and on/off but pressing it and/or holding it does not change the button beep status. So, either mine is broken or there is some trick I must perform.

I will send everyone a scan of the manual tomorrow. I am collecting e-mail addresses and I am going to try to do them at once. (Makes it easier for me!!) Thanks to both of you for providing access to the documentation. And to the starter of this thread for letting us in on this deal!

As for programming this thing, I knew there must be a hidden button somewhere that I couldn't find, I didn't realize the whole panel lifted up! God I felt like such a dork after seeing that, but, you really can't tell by looking at the radio!

Well, I now have it programmed to receive alerts... we'll see how well it works. It looks like (and you mentioned earlier) there is a page 4. I assume there is nothing that important on that page, however, the end of page 3 mentioned something about test alerts and I was curious as to when they do those or if it varies by area?

Anyway, if you can summarize what's on page 4 that's be awesome. Thanks again!

OH, if anyone knows how to disable the beeps when you press the buttons, lemme know please.

All the pages should be there. There is 8 "pages" in the fold up manual. There are 2 pages per file and 4 files total.

I also felt dumb with I saw that the lid opens. I would have never guessed it! Also, my local NOAA weather is not Channel A, it is the last channel. I have programmed the SAME code and I still cannot recieve the NOAA forcast when I press the NOAA button. Is there anyway I can change the NOAA channel from A to something else.

If there are any other problems with the documentation, let me know!

Each PDF File only shows 1 page in Acrobat... and only 3 files, so something isn't there? Did anyone get the wr196_4.pdf?

Maybe someone logged in and deleted it?

I didn't delete it and my logs show that smigs only uploaded 3 files. Unfourtunately my logs also show that alot of people have been probing the system to see what ports are open. Sheesh you'd think I could trust the folks here. Specifically IP 24.7.220.105 which just so happens to be the IP that uploaded the pdf files to begin with (smigs). Don't know what you are looking for, but ftp is all that I need to see accessing my computer folks.

I'll leave it up for now, but I plan on taking it down within the next couple of days.

I only uploaded 3 files instead of 4. CuteFTP defaulted to port 27, so that is why I was trying that port. you did not tell what port in your inital post. That is why I PMed you. If you were having trouble with my IP, you should have PMed me. I was not trying to get somewhere I was not suppose to. All the files are up
