Weathertech or Husky floor liners?

Winter is coming and wife needs the floor liners (not the mats) for her CRV.

When doing a quick search for weathertech products, I've noticed for the same if not less cash I can get the entire cars worth of liners if I go Husky brand.

Since these are exact fit products, I'm more inclined to go with weathertech. However if you guys have a good experience with Husky I'll probably go with them.

So AT Garage, what you prefer?

Weathertech is awesome. Hard to put in & expensive, but awesome. My buddy just put some into his TL & it's like the factory put the rubber in - great fit, covers everything, completely ready for winter!

I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has the Husky brand ones. I have Weathertech ones in my car, and I love them. For the quality of materials and fit, they are well worth the price. My only complaint is that they don't have a direct fit trunk liner for the Evo (only the normal lancer trunks).

I have Husky mats in my Lexus. They seem pretty durable - the driver's mat slides around a little bit though. I haven't had much direct experience with Weathertech but I have heard great things about them.

I have Weathertech in my '98 Accord. FWIW the edges have started to curl in a bit on both the driver and passenger side, though this car gets pretty hot in the summer just sitting in the driveway most of the time and that may be a contributor. They aren't that old either, maybe 3 years old. My wife's previous minivan had them for longer than I have and they held up better.

I've got weathertechs in my cobalt ss and huskies in my focus ST. The weathertechs are definitely nicer, but were also more expensive. If i was gonna do it over again for the ST, i would get weathertechs.

See if you can find specific reviews on the car you're getting them for.

There is a tradeoff for the 05-09 legacy/outback ones. The(front) weathertech ones cover up the sides but don't go up as high in the back behind the pedal and only cover half the dead pedal area. The huskies go up further in back, but not as far up on the sides and cover the entire dead pedal.

Specific information like that is probably what you're looking for. I don't think either will let you down material wise and both have a great warranty.

Have both, the weather techs are much nicer.

Both fit well, both work well. The husky liner looks utilitarian, the weather tech liner actually improves the appearance of the foot wells. Much nicer product, I'll stick with weather tech in the future.

I chose the Huskys in my f150 and the Weathertechs in my wife's fusion. I don't like the Weathertechs because they are slick and my feet slide around when its raining but they do a good job. The Huskys do a great job in the truck and would buy again.

Used Weathertech for the first time in our GX. Loved them in the footwells so much that we lined the rear area with their mat. Almost flawless fit, works perfectly.

Have Weathertech mats in our Silverado, again, flawless fit and look and work great. They'll probably outlast our ownership of the truck.

I will agree that the weathertechs are smoother and offer less traction, which is not present with the dull/matte finish of the husky liner. Having said that, the dull finish of the husky liner attacts dust/dirt like crazy and for the life of me I cannot fully clean it off. Even freshly cleaned after it dries it looks dirty. The appearance reminds me of cheap plastic interiors from the 90's, whereas the weathertech at least looks better. Whether it is more functional, that is another question. The husky liners (at least the one I have) has barbs all over the back of it which hold it firmly in place always. The weathertech, even when locked down has a bit of fore/aft play.

Seriously though, Weathertechs might be more expensive, but they're not that expensive for how well they protect your investment (car). They are awesome in my MS3, especially in the winter when snow/salt/sand get tracked in all the time.

If you want looks go with weathertech but if you just want to protect your floor and save money go Husky. FWIW, my wifes Civic has the Weathertechs and my Cruze has the Huskys.

I found out tankfully before I ordered them, that there is an issue with 2 of the 5 weathertechs for my wifes van that make them a terrible purchase, and that the huskys just work better

Just to throw in another option, when buying floor mats for my S2000, I wound up getting the Intro-tech Hexomats.

They're just a cut honeycomb pattern, no lip around the edges as the weathertech or equivalent would. But they were cut perfectly (the passenger side floor mat is a very odd shape in the S2000), and they still look like new 2 years later. Just the right amount of grip, and they do a great job containing any water. Only issue is they had a very strong new rubber smell for the first couple of weeks.

For my use, I preferred the thinner no-lip fit, and think they look better in the car. Also about half the price, and they've held up perfectly in my usage.

No specific experience with CRV mats, though.

Weathertechs are great, but overkill for most people IMO. I just get the OE rubber mats, though not sure if all brands have them. (I know VW/Audi do, so does Nissan)

They just give them away with new cars these days if you ask.

Might be okay if you have light snow, and live in an area that doesn't use salt. However weather techs you can spill a full coffee in them and not have leakage, etc. Up to you how much that's worth.

thanks. not much less expensive than OE on ebay but maybe they won't wear out in 50k miles like the OE does.

I bought some Husky liners for my wife's Jeep GC and I really like the soft rubber, as I was expecting a more hard/slick vinyl. Never used weathertech but I would buy the Husky's again.
