Hi,
Today the BW on my site hit 6gb in one day, I found that this site has posted porn on my websites upload script and then posted it on there forums. On top of that they have my site listed as a place to upload to. I deleted the script and the files, that?s not what I want to talk about.

I am seeking support on what to do about this, here is the thread listing the sites:

How do I get my site off, what can I do? It seem they have found other sites with the same script and are using them to post there porn.. To top it off the site is in swedish so I don't have a clue what it says.

The first thing you should do is contact your hosting provider and inform them of the situation, then contact the offenders hosting provider.

I ran some quick searches and came up with the following info (someone please corrrect me if I am wrong):

narr.se = 195.47.247.72 = b-one.net

If they are found to be in violation of their Terms and Conditions, b-one.net should pull their plug.

I want to bring to your attention that a site that you are hosting (http://narr.se) has listed my site (http://narr.se/viewtopic.php?id=515) as a place to illegaly upload porn to. Today I found that someone had exploited my upload script, uploaded porn then posted the pictures on the forum on the site above as well as posting a link to my exploited script.

From my end I have deleted all the pictures and the script, but I would like you to look into the practices of this site. This has caused 6 GB of bandwith for the requests of those photos from http://narr.se. Please look into this as this should not be going on.

Did you contact the owner of the site? Since he is the one who has exploited your site, i suggest you talk to him first.

I don?t think that the owner of the site cares as it is his site. Does this violate your Terms of Service?

I suppose that would depend on what kind of warning you had on your site.
Did you say that everyone was allowed to upload files to our site or did you have a warning?

This what out ToS says:
Illegal material is not permitted on any of B-one?s servers, whether this be images, film cuts or hyperlink images or suchlike material.

We could put this under "hyperlink images or suchlike material." But I have to be shure that you had a warning on you site.
Also, we can not be shure that it was infact the owner of the site who uploaded the pictures, and linking to a picture is not really illigal.

Here is what I would like to respond with:

There was no warning on my site, here is the kicker there is no direct link to the script from anywhere on my site either. Regardless they uploaded pictures to my site without permission.

The fact over who posted the links, the pictures is irrelevant here. Fact an IP address from your servers had requested over 6 gb of porn images on my site. These images where illegally put on my site, not by me but by a hacker (someone who illegally accessed my site). They put these pictures/link on (posted) a server you own. This would make the owner of the server and website responsible for the enforcement of TOS and laws.

I see that you are unwilling to help me in this matter I will have to pursue legal measures.

Not to be a jerk or anything here, but if you had the upload script on your site - linked or not - you gave them the in and the upload rights. No "hacking" was involved. That's like leaving the keys in your ignition, top down, and getting mad when someone poking around boosts your ride.

Frankly, I'd delete the porn, get some actual security, and move on.

Actually, that analogy is somewhat off since stealing a car is illegal. I'd liken it more to those who put a giant bowl of candy out at halloween with a sign that says '1 piece per child'. Then some kid comes along and takes it all. Not illegal, but still immoral.

Nonetheless, i agree on your resolution............eat the bill and chalk it up as a learning experience.

If there is a large bill to pay for the used bandwidth, then go after the other site and see if you can get money from them. If they have ads on their site, then they should be able to pay for b.s. like this... I don't think you should drop the issue, especially if you get a response from the other site owners and they seem to not care or approve of their users.

Yeah I realize I just need to eat it and there is not much I can do, I just don?t like that fact that they have a list of sites that link to the same script on others' sites that they used to exploit me. I just hope those other people know about it.
