Web Page Problems with Win2K

Trying to get a Modem to work in Win2K.

I got it working and installed and what not but Web pages don't work everything else does. Is that the IP settings or Win2K Anybody else running Win2K with a modem let me know....

This Sucks being in the sticks no Cable No DSL No Nothing but 28.8 :disgust:

Redefinied: Problem is I cant get any thing on the Web except for Microsoft

hm.. if it is detected in device manager with no ! or ? than it shoiuld be ok.... it might just be your ISP ... there server may be down...

try and update your drivers or something...

Yeah, there are lots of people running W2K with a modem, now you know.

Would you like to better explain your problem??? Exactly what works and what doesn't???

Open IE, go to tools, internet options, connection tab. Make sure IE is using your modem connection as dail up connection. If it's not there, just add it.

Simple problem cant go to any web pages. But stuff like e-mail works?

are you trying to go throught a proxy server? did you go through the dial up wizard? that usually does a good job, atleast for me.

Ok looks like DNS is not working correctly

Ok more specific the problem is I cant get any web pages except for Microsoft pages.
